Situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, Briddicott Farm Cottage is located close to the medieval village of Dunster, with its famous castle, deer park and mill. This cosy holiday cottage with wood burner offers a real working farm experience, being located within a busy working farm in The Crown Estate which is renowned for its production of sheep’s milk. There are various pens and barns with cattle all around the cottage - glance out of the bedroom windows and watch sheep grazing on the rolling hills! In the lawned front garden are some resident hens, and there is a sitting out area – the ideal spot to enjoy al fresco dining or a drink on a balmy evening and enjoy distant views of the Somerset coast. There is superb walking with many footpaths leading to either the South West Coastal Path or the heathlands and forests of the Dunster woodland and Exmoor National Park. Other places to visit are the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton which are famous for the Watersmeet Gorge, National Trust, and the Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. The West Somerset Railway is great for steam train lovers! There are beaches at Porlock and Dunster. Shops, pubs and restaurant 1 mile.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, the hosts were really friendly and the location was good for walks around exmoor. The local shop in carhampton didn't really have any stock but its close enough to bob down towards Minehead for amenities. The back garden was a really peaceful oasis and great for a morning cuppa before deciding where to go for the day. Dunster was worth walking over to, through the dear park to visit the couple of pubs there of an evening. A really lovely escape from it all.

Lovely little cottage on a working farm with chickens in the garden who we let out daily, no eggs sadly. Lovely garden with views down to the sea. Lots of cows and sheep on the farm and super friendly owners, we met two of the working dogs who were gorgeous. We were lucky enough to be taken on a tour of some of the farm and even had a go in the combine, saw the beautiful views over the county, down to the sea. Stunning. Cottage is well equipped. Washing machine and dishwasher were small, however this is dictated by the ancient, smaller than average, doorways in the cottage but everything works well. We had one TINY inconvenience that was fixed immediately by the owners with many apologies which were, quite honestly, not necessary. Cottage is situated about an hours walk from Dunster but is also only a 5 minute drive. 5 minutes to Blue Anchor Bay. 10 minutes to Minehead and many other attractions are very close by. Overall a lovely, lovely cottage in a fantastic, quiet, location. Amazing hosts and lots to do nearby. I miss it already and would love to return.
