Enjoy a wonderful stay at this cosy cottage, located on a working farm on the edge of Exmoor National Park.

Situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, Briddicott Farm Cottage is located close to the medieval village of Dunster, with its famous castle, deer park and mill. This cosy holiday cottage with wood burner offers a real working farm experience, being located within a busy working farm in The Crown Estate which is renowned for its production of sheep’s milk. There are various pens and barns with cattle all around the cottage - glance out of the bedroom windows and watch sheep grazing on the rolling hills! In the lawned front garden are some resident hens, and there is a sitting out area – the ideal spot to enjoy al fresco dining or a drink on a balmy evening and enjoy distant views of the Somerset coast. There is superb walking with many footpaths leading to either the South West Coastal Path or the heathlands and forests of the Dunster woodland and Exmoor National Park. Other places to visit are the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton which are famous for the Watersmeet Gorge, National Trust, and the Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. The West Somerset Railway is great for steam train lovers! There are beaches at Porlock and Dunster. Shops, pubs and restaurant 1 mile.

We loved staying in this quirky cottage which had everything we needed for a comfortable holiday. It was quite a cold week so it was great to get back to the cottage after a brisk walk on the moors and light the log burner and spend a cosy evening by the fire. Lovely view over the Bristol Channel from the garden which I imagine would be beautiful in the summer. Lots of birds in the garden so take some bird seed and enjoy watching them squabble over the food and don't forget to feed the friendly chicken in the garden. Dunster is worth a visit and the deer park is a lovely place to walk to from the cottage on a sunny day. I'm sure we will be back!

We had a most happy and restful time at Briddcott Farm and the final highlight came when Tracy took my wife and I on a 11/2 hour trip around the farm fields and heathland to see the Deer/ Horses/and Cattle. The experience was great and it showed us just how hard working both Andrew and Tracy are. We covered the area well and were very impressed with the area of north Somerset, especially Dunster Castle and the area surrounding.

Lovely people running a busy farm. Remember this cottage is right in the heart of the working farm, cow barn full of cows a few feet away from the cottage which we did not mind! Electric heaters and a wood burner for heating which had to be left in all the time to keep the place warm. Heater not working in bathroom so damp and black mold which was not nice and not pleasant to have a bath or shower. Nice touch that they have logs in the garage we can use and nice large log burner. Only down side was the bed very uncomfortable but nice pillows, cold bathroom and the place needed a good clean. ( log burner needed cleaning out before we could use and the cooker was really dirty) (I had to pull the knobs off and give it a good clean) Apart from that it was worth the money we paid for the hire for the week and as I said the owners were very welcoming and nice. If the above Problems were sorted it would be a really nice place to stay. It’s located down a long drive from the village to the farm (about 800 mts) Great views over the village, the rolling hills, blue anchor beach and wales across the sea around 15 miles away. We would book again and hope the problems are addressed. I would say it’s more a 2-3 star not a 4 star. Dunster, blue anchor, exmoor, minehead etc all close so lots to see. I recommend this place for a break.
