Lovely cosy cottage, with everything we needed for a relaxing week. The kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the living room cosy. We enjoyed playing cards in the conservatory in the evenings. The cottage is located a short drive from some beautiful beaches and on top of the broads, with Wroxham a few miles away.

This suited the two of us perfectly. Water-pressure is certainly low, but the shower always managed to work. The heating is adjustable and effective enough. More (and also smaller) mugs would help more efficient use of d/washer. Easy to drive to coast (even walkable) and nearby broads. Good walking in vicinity, tho' maybe local OS map would also help.

An amazing time at Briar Cottage. Perfect loacation, perfect cottage, perfect facilities. We loved every minute, from lazy mornings in front of the fire to long walks on the local beaches. The only criticism and it’s a minor one... is the heating, as others have said, is a pain!

Cottage was nice and clean, especially the bedding. Kitchen had everything you needed. However the heating was not the easiest to use and towels were not provided as stated on your web site with made life very difficult.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We were sorry to hear that Rosemary struggled with the heating controls, we do encourage guests to contact us by phone or email if they have any issues but did not hear from her during her stay. With regard to towels, the marketing information makes it clear that towels can be hired and as the guest did not ask to hire any towels, we reminded her to pack these when attaching information for her stay, so were surprised to see her comments.

This cottage did not disappoint. It was really cosy and we relaxed immediately. It is well equipped, nicely furnished and sympathetically decorated and we had an enjoyable stay here. The only snagging points were the shower in bathroom is not very powerful, more of a trickle and the sheet did not fit the bed - no reflection on the owners who seem really friendly. We really want to come back so please fit a more powerful shower head! The location, although remote, is great as its really central for exploring Norfolk. Perfect for a relaxing break to do as much or as little as you please.

We had a wonderful five days here. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept well, which is so important. The cottage is well appointed and the conservatory a big bonus! The location is quiet, which suited us but convenient to get to the attractions, such as the Broads and the beaches. We will be back and can recommend wholeheartedly.

We booked Briar Cottage for a weekend break and had a really super stay. The cottage was really clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfortable and the bike store was really useful. The cottage is in a great spot, handy for lovely beaches and not too far from a supermarket if you run out of things! We would definitely book Briar Cottage again - it felt like a home from home.

The cottage is spacious yet very cosy, with lots of lamps and lovely finishing touches. The conservatory is a real bonus and the garden is a delight. We really enjoyed our stay despite a protracted problem with the toilet cistern (which was fixed the day before we left) for which the owners very kindly treated us to a meal for the inconvenience. Most of the cottage was immaculate but the bathroom was not to our standard of cleanliness. The bathroom floor (behind the toilet) and the tiling behind the sink and the area on top of the bath side panel all were quite grubby. I didn’t make a fuss about it and instead chose to clean it myself, which took only a few minutes so I am not sure why the cleaning company didn’t do it properly in the first place. The area is very peaceful (though you will hear the odd car going past early in the morning if the bedroom window is open). Brilliant spot if like us, you like quieter beaches. Horsey Gap, Happisburgh and Sea Palling are all beautiful and just a few minutes drive away. All in all, it is a very nice cottage in a peaceful setting and we would happily stay again. I can recommend this cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were sorry to see the feedback on cleanliness in the bathroom from these guests, and have discussed with our cleaning company who are following up as a matter of urgency-we welcome feedback both positive and negative as if there is something wrong we would want to rectify this as soon as possible. We are pleased to hear that in spite of this and the problem with the cistern the guest and his family had an enjoyable stay and would recommend Briar Cottage to others.

Quiet, comfortable and a great place for a week away from it all. Good local beaches but no local pub or restaurant since the Swan burnt down (it is being refurbished). Go a little further afield though and there are plenty of nice pubs and restaurants. For those that prefer to feed themselves, the kitchen is exceptionally well equipped by most standards, even the knives are sharp! The dishwasher and washing machine is a bonus. There's a well-stocked Tesco a ten-minute drive away, a Waitrose in North Walsham and there are a few farm shops around. Overall, I'd recommend Briar Cottage highly and look forward to returning when my batteries need recharging.
