Located down a small lane, this characterful home is just a short walk from the centre of Storrington. The cosy living room is a comfortable space with two sofas surrounding an open fire, ideal for relaxing evenings in. The dining area has a table and chairs suitable for four, and there is a cloakroom with a WC and basin. The modern kitchen is a great area for preparing meals, with amenities and a washing machine. You can access the outside space from the kitchen and there is a handy shortcut to the shopping area of the village via a small wooden bridge.
The first floor is accessed by a steep staircase which leads to a large landing with a full bookcase. The master bedroom with a double bed is wonderfully light with two windows overlooking the front garden. The second bedroom has twin beds and dual aspect windows over the rear of the cottage. The family bathroom has a corner shower and a fabulous two-person sauna and steam room- a wonderful way to relax. Outside is a small front garden with a garden bench, perfect for a morning coffee! There is a small, gated parking area to the rear of the property as well as nearby pay and display car parks.
An ancient village featured in the Domesday Book, Storrington is centred around a mill pond fed by downland springs and provides easy access to the South Downs. There footpaths close to Brewers Cottage leading to the top of Kithurst and Chantry Hills and for an easier walk, there are roads leading to the top of the with car parks once you reach the top. There are also numerous footpaths on flatter ground, so walkers and mountain bikers are well served. Storrington has a range of shops, restaurants and tea rooms. Nearby there are traditional country pubs serving good food. Parham House just west of Storrington is a magnificent Elizabethan country house with beautiful formal gardens and open parkland.
Just 5-minutes’ drive from Storrington is the RSPB Pulborough Brooks reserve, a wetland haven for bird life. The Pulborough Brooks is a deliberate flood plain so periodically becomes a spectacular lake. There are excellent walks across the Brooks and along the banks of the River Arun offering uninterrupted views south towards the South Downs. The West Sussex Golf Club is located nearby, with an oasis of heather, sand heath and trees. Goring-by-Sea and Worthing are only 20-minutes by car and at low tide up to half a mile of sand and rocks are exposed, great for rock pooling. Brewers Cottage is an ideal base from which to enjoy the many events that the Goodwood Estate offers. Summer brings the drama of arts festivals held in Arundel, Petworth and Brighton. Chichester has an arts festival as well as its world-famous Festival Theatre. Stately homes Arundel Castle Petworth House and Goodwood House are all within a short drive. Shop 100 yards, pub 150 yards and restaurant 200 yards.
