I was very disappointed. Overall the house was very nice but it lacked personal touches The equipment in the house was a real mix of things. They only left ½ toilet roll in each bathroom so soon as we got there we had to go out and buy more. Part of the house is used by someone else When you approach the property there is a front door and then there is a picket fence enclosing a garden That front door is part of the property that is used by someone else The drive to the house is very steep I could not get my car up this slope to park as it was scraping the spoiler on the front of my car. We had to park on the road. On entering the property you go through a set of patio doors in to a living room straight in front of you is a larde double bedroom and a separate shower/,wc on this level is a tumble drier you then go up a small staircase in to the kitchen/diner/livingroom patio doors in to outdoor space with hot tub large iron outdoor table and chairs a two seater bench/table and on other side 2 wooden chairs and a wobbly table that has see better days. We went looking for cushions for the chairs and only found 4 which again had seen better days. Back in house you go up another small stair case to 2 bedrooms both with single beds wardrobe and chest of drawers. The bathroom had a toilet and bath no shower attachment. My husband was unable to use this as he is 80 and the bath is fitted under the eaves of the house so unable to get in and out easily. I must say the beds were very comfortable. The windows of the house were absolutely filthy looked like they had not been done for months. My overall impression of this place is that its not run by an individual but by a company on a shoestring budget yet charging top prices Im not one to complain but I was that disappointed I felt I needed to say my piece. Good points were its a nice size property near to some lovely places to visit beds were really comfy My overall impression of the hou

Very disappointed, we arrived at Brambles on Friday evening and left first thing Monday morning. The cottage offers on site parking but due to the very steep incline of the drive we were unable to get the car up it bottomed out and beached so we had to park on the road. The photos of the cottage show a nice lawn at the front and a wooded area at the back. The school opposite is mentioned in the description, on the same side is an industrial estate that runs down the road. Not pretty. On opening the door at the back of the cottage it becomes obvious that the wood shown hides a very busy A road, The traffic thundering past day and night just meters above your head. The amount of noise in my opinion is unacceptable and should be mentioned in the description. The weather was lovely but we had to keep the windows closed at night because of the traffic. We had no problem with the cottage, just the location. Perhaps we should have researched the immediate area surrounding the cottage before we booked. We certainly would not have booked this cottage had we done so Monmouth is a very nice town and the Wye Valley is very beautiful.

Adequate as a base for adults. Sandwiched between 2 very busy roads heavy traffic thundering past. The walk Into town takes you along these roads and then navigate across a major duel carriage way. Takes a good 20mins for those who are fit. I wouldn't take children too risky. Accomoadition is very clean,, 2 bathrooms is a bonus. All hard flooring including the stairs, I found slippery. Having a little dog with us she couldn't manage the stairs without slipping. 2 sitting areas, we only used the open kitchen, diner area. The paving slab steps going down Into the front garden were loose. We avoided using then and used the grass. There is a hot tub we didn't use that. It's adequate and provides spacious accommodation. I would have likes heavy curtains not just blinds, as the double glazing doesn't keep the noise of the traffic out. All paved and private at the rear. No planting. Hot tub, bbq and outdoor table and chairs. Large grassy area to front, directly opposite a large school. No planting just grass. On the edge of town on an industrial estate. Sorry definitely not one for children, or elderly adults. OK if your fit and deaf, or don't mind using the car to get into town.
