Loved the little cottage, only disappointment was the rear garden. The grass was ridiculously long, the garden was not well maintained and the fence wasn’t secure therefore making the garden unsuitable for my dogs or my toddler which was a shame. Other than that we loved our holiday and would definitely come back.

The cottage made a good central point to visit the area. It was clean, nicely presented, and quite comfortable. The people around about were very friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few things that prevented the cottage from feel like that special place you would want to come back to. Delabole has a good pub, a Spar and a Fish and Chip shop, but otherwise perhaps isn't as charming as many of the surrounding villages. The drive is very tight, rough and quite difficult to turn into and shared with other houses. Parking is very limitted at the cottage and on the road. Outside the cottage looked a little untidy and un-cared for. The grass was very long and full of weeds making it difficult to use the outside space. Unfortunately inside the dishwasher was not working and during our stay the boiler broke down so we had no hot water, although that was fixed pretty quickly by the house manager, Ian. Basically, it did not feel as nice a place to stay as other cottages we have rented, although clearly the area around is very popular.

Cottage was very expensive for the week we were away. Boiler stopped working the first day and the dishwasher was broken. The caretaker sorted out the boiler very quickly but had little communication about the dishwasher, no one came to fix it during our week or even look at it!! Location is a bit too far North to do things further south, however is close to Boscastle and Tintagel. A bit disappointing given the expense for our week!!

Lovely little cottage, we hadn't realised how residential the area was we prefer something a little quieter, local dogs woke us, good for a base

On entering the cottage we were greeted with a very strong smell of damp. Should have been warned the electricity was on a KEY METER (£15 was on the key ) any more was chargeable at the local spa and was CASH only. The charge of £25 was levied for the dog which we thought to be rather high especially as I ended up cleaning up for some other dog in the garden. Dish washer didn't work and hadn't realised that there was no washing machine. The boiler stopped working but all credit to the manager he came out Sunday evening and fixed it.

Response on behalf of the owner; We were disappointed to read your review following your recent stay at Bramble Cottage. The property was refurbished towards the end of 2017, benefiting from a brand new kitchen and bathroom. Also, we have totally reroofed the cottage since then and it is compliant with safety and building regulations. We have recruited a new cleaner and all cleaning procedures have been improved, we are confident there will be no further issues.
