Overall, we had a lovely stay in Primrose Cottage, which is conveniently located to access all that Northumberland has to offer. However, if you take a dog you need to be aware of the neighbour. We left the dog for only 2hrs to go to the shop and we were accosted on our return to be told that the dog should not have been left on its own, not a pleasant experience.

This cottage is very well appointed- within easy reach of Alnwick, Seahouses, Bundell, Dunstanburgh and Craster. Lots of great walks and beaches. Could do with up dating as Botany Cottage has been. Didn’t visit pub in village- didn’t serve food and didn’t look very inviting. We had a sunny week there- very lucky!

Decent value for money but I haven’t stayed in a cottage that hasn’t provided towels, basic tea, coffee ets or even WiFi. Appreciate the cottage is old and small that’s what took my fancy but needs a little spruce up and proper clean - shame some little touches and it would have been a gem.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review. It is apparent that there is disappointment in your choice of Primrose Cottage. Perhaps you had not fully checked in advance, the description of what could be expected. Of course, being reasonable value for money would have been a major consideration. The Welcome Pack is not advertised but is simply a little extra, for the convenience of our customers. It is much appreciated, as shown in responses we receive. Tea and coffee was sometimes discarded, so is not provided. We found people tended to bring their own preferred brands. The pack contains milk, eggs, butter etc. foodstuffs that are difficult to transport. This adjustment is met with understanding and agreement, especially in terms of avoiding unnecessary waste.

Great holiday. Primrose Cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Some really nice touches including a cool bag containing; milk, butter and bread upon arrival which was well received following a 400 mile journey and even a food bowl and water bottle for the dog! Information packages about the local area also provided which included a parking disc which is really useful and saved time when travelling to some of the local towns and villages such as Berwick. For us, evening meals were hard to come by; be aware that the local pub only does Sunday lunch. However, the information pack provide information on local pubs/restaurants and Seahouses has a Co-Op which came in handy from time to time as well as shops in nearby Alnwick
