A very well equipped spacious bungalow, in a great location, care has been taken to ensure there is everything you need. It is spotlessly clean, the furnishings are modern but cosy and comfortable. The owners are friendly, welcoming and helpful, they live just 2 doors away and tell you to knock if you need anything but they are respectful of your privacy and leave you pretty much to yourselves. There is great outside space for sitting out and barbequing- (there is a barbeque in the garage ) there are birdfeeders, the owners even provide the bird food! and also a summer house. It is a 5 minute walk to Hamworthy park which has a café, toilets and play area edged by a shingle beach- it is a further 10 minute walk to Poole quay. The Yachtsman pub is just a few yards up the road from the bungalow , it is very spacious with a large beer garden and serves great food. Hamworthy is also well served with local takeaway's and a convenience store just up the road. We used the local bus service into Poole it runs every 15 minutes. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this little gem to anyone wishing to explore Dorset, the new forest and surrounding areas.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. A lovely garden to sit in on nice days and a small sitting area inside overlooking the garden for not so nice days. It is within easy reach of Poole for lazy days sitting watching the boats. Hamworthy park is well worth a visit too.

Actually this was a work trip working in local marinas in Hamworthy. Ideal location and lots of different places to eat and take aways locally. Wished we had had time to make use of the fantastic location just 100 metres from the harbour. Would be nice to bring the family back as such a lovely cottage and location.

On arrival we were very surprised to find a large work van parked on the drive. Half way through our holiday it was replaced by a large motor home. They both belonged to the owner of the bungalow. We felt it was inappropriate not to have been informed of these vehicles or the fact that the owner would visit the property on more than one occasions during our stay to unload items from his vehicles. We have never experienced this before when we have rented properties and found it rather intrusive. The description of the garden does not reflect what we found. It is sorely in need of some attention to reflect the description given. The undercover outside had a see through corrugated roof which would have benefitted from a thorough clean. Given all of this we enjoyed our stay but feel these things need addressing.

We were met by Joy a delightful lady, her husband Bob came round later and introduced himself, both said any issues we are just 2 doors away. They felt like old friends and made us feel so welcome. Would have no hesitation in recommending Bosuns Locker

Sofas very uncomfortable mattresses you can feel the springs through them kitchen equipment needs updating especially the dishwasher it has an awful smell only enough cutlery for one sitting

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The sofas and matresses are down to personal preference, we haven't had any previous complaints. We are sorry that the dishwasher wasn’t up to standard, we will be looking into this for future bookings. The type of clientele we have means the dishwasher is barely used, which means it may have some standing water. As mentioned in previous comments the cottage is perfect for families, the amount of cutlery is what is in accordance with what is recommended by

Lovely cottage, very high standard. Perfect for a family of five. Everything is nearby in walking distance: sea, pub (with good drinks and food), take-away. Very much to do and see in short distance. We had a superb week, will certainly come back!

We had a lovely week at Bosuns Locker in November. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and had everything you need and more for a comfortable weeks stay. We found the location to be very convenient for getting around and quiet for the evenings. The owners are lovely and very happy to help you with finding your way. We look forward to visiting again.

We've stayed at Bosuns Locker before and so returning speaks for itself. The bungalow is well equipped, clean and, since we stayed at the beginning of winter, warm. WiFi is there if you want to keep in touch with the outside world. Recommended.

Lovely little bungalow in an brilliant location. Local shops and a pub within a few minutes walk. Just a minute or two to reach the slipway for Poole Harbour with the chance of seeing an amazing sunset (we did!). Hamworthy Park and beach about a 10-15 minute stroll. Everything was very clean and comfortable, with just about everything you could need, including a stash of wine! Take one as a welcoming gift and then if you use any more, just replace them. What a welcome idea. As we went the end of October, we didn’t really get to use the garden but we did top up the bird feeders with the food provided - another nice touch. The only slight problem we had was there being just one loo and a separate stand alone bathroom. If there were just the two of us it wouldn’t have been a problem at all, but for three of the days, two adult family members joined us and as one is disabled, he struggled a bit with the confined space and couldn’t use the over bath shower. However, it is not advertised as accessible, so it’s not actually a complaint, more an FYI. Would definitely visit again.

Fell in love with this nautically themed bungalow up the road from Poole Harbour. The owners live nearby and were both kind and helpful. The bungalow was immaculate and comfortable and we enjoyed a super week in Dorset. It is well positioned for getting around to all our favourite haunts and there is a bus stop nearby to get into Poole. The only drawback I can see is that there is only one bathroom. As it was only two of our party of four eventually made the week but I think that bathroom would struggle to accommodate the five people that the property advertises.
