This property is part of our Welcome Cottages collection

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Enjoy a wonderful costal escape in this lovely welcoming holiday cottage, and explore the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This beautiful former mill house enjoys an idyllic setting in a peaceful valley, just half a mile from Port Navas Creek and the sheltered sailing waters of the Helford River. The versatile, five bedroom detached cottage provides comfortable and welcoming accommodation, ideal for extended families or groups of friends. Relax in the extensive, tree lined 2-acre garden, and listen to the sound of the stream running fast close by whilst enjoying a delicious meal al fresco on the under cover decking. Hidden from the road and approached by a small lane, the property enjoys private parking for four cars.
Bosanath Mill is ideally situated for exploring the delights of the beautiful Helford River and creeks, miles of coastal paths and the busy port and marinas of Falmouth. This area is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is just over a mile from the pretty village square of Mawnan Smith with a village store and a thatch pub. Visit the lovely beach and cove at Maenporth, with a popular beach café and restaurant, located just a few minutes’ drive away. The busy port of Falmouth is just a short 5-mile drive away, and provides a wealth of shops, restaurants, cafés, art galleries, cinema, rail links, small ferry services and water taxis to the nearby picturesque villages of Flushing and St Mawes. Nature lovers will enjoy the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan close by, and the famous golf course at Budock Vean Hotel is open to non-residents.
The area has great access to the coastal paths, stunning creeks, woodlands and small beaches around the Helford River. The famous Ferry Boat Inn sits on the small sandy beach of the North Helford Passage and serves great food and local ales. There is a small ferry service across the river to Helford village, where you can enjoy a well-deserved refreshment at the water front pub. The area is popular with walkers and water sports/sailing enthusiasts; take the exhilarating sea safari to watch an abundance of wildlife including dolphins, basking sharks, seals and birds. Or simply relax on one of the many beautiful sandy beaches that surround this gorgeous coastline. Beach 2 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

The cottage is lovely and the welcome pack was excellent with scones, jam and clotted cream. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could wish for and the living room is vast; the games room was not really very good. The grounds were stunning and the provision of Hunters so you could wade in the stream was very thoughtful. The cottage itself is very secluded and would not be of any use to anyone with mobility issues - it is accessed down a very narrow lane which is not easy to drive and needs to be used when going out anywhere. There were no instructions for anything except the dishwasher and the wi-fi kept cutting out, so not good if you need to keep in touch for work issues. The instructions for the collection of keys were poor, we were told a code would be sent for the key safe but it did not arrive; fortunately it was open!
