To get to Borve House you first have a romantic trip across the Corran Ferry and then a lovely scenic drive down passing Loch Loch Shiel, Acharacle and then onto Kilchoan which is at the point of Ardnamurchan and where you will find this beautiful cottage. It has everything you would want for a relaxing stay on the west coast of Scotland.
Close to Ardnamurchan point and Sanna Beach is just 500 yards in front of the house and has beautiful sands, so if the weather is nice, pack a picnic and head to the beach. Enjoy your morning cuppa on the balcony watching the aea eagles hover above the loch.
The living room has an open fire and from the patio doors you can see the stunning views outside, and if you’re lucky, on a clear night the Northern Lights can be seen. There are three good-size bedrooms, the kitchen is well equipped and with the utility roomis great for all the kids wellies & fishing nets!
Take a day trip to the Isle of Mull by ferry from Lochaline to Salen (please book in advance). The west coast of Scotland has many castles, some inhabited and some are now ruins, but well worth visiting. If you travel north you will come across the famous Eilean Donan Castle which is the seat of the Macrae Clan, and 30 minutes north you will drive over the bridge to the Isle of Skye. For a scenic route you could take the ferry from Armadale back to Mallaig (book in advance) and return home to Borve House for a nice relaxing evening.
Glencoe is stunning, no matter what time of year, you can visit the Glencoe Visitors Centre and read about the Battle of Glencoe where the Campbells clan massacred the Macdonalds when they were asleep, or venture out on one of the many walks there are to discover. Beach 500 yards. Shops and pub 4 miles.
