The regional park of Luberon represents a paradise for ramblers and offers plenty of paths for walking and hiking. In nearby Apt there is a large Saturday market to explore. Quaint little alleys, with vaulted passage ways, arcades of houses and lined with shops, restaurants and cafes give one a real feeling of Provence. After a short drive there is the historical Papal city of Avignon with its famous bridge, Le Pont d’Avignon. One can appreciate its theatre festival in July. The Colorado Provençal at Roussillon attracts many visitors to see ochre coloured rocks as well as the Fontaine du Vaucluse which is a sight to behold also having its own intriguing legend regarding its source. There are also local farmers’ markets throughout the year including the one in the evening in Velleron.
