We booked Bocott Cottage for Christmas week, to facilitate a family holiday with a bit less driving for me. The cottage is lovely, well furnished and equipped and was spotlessly clean on arrival. Nice and cosy with plenty of hot water. Even though it was the wrong time of year for humans to enjoy the garden, our dog loved the freedom to run around in this very nice fully enclosed space. We appreciated the welcome pack and little extras. Owners were away but we were met and shown around by a helpful lady who was on the end of the phone if we needed anything - which fortunately we didn’t. I am sure the location is better in summer but even with short and often misty days we loved the peace & quiet and lovely views. The village pub ( 20 minutes slow stroll ) had just changed hands so limited food service but was very welcoming and everyone we met in and around the village were friendly. If you appreciate a rural location I’d recommend this cottage highly.

We really enjoyed our time at Bocott cottage. The quality of the cottage and amenities was exceptional. I would not hesitate in recommending it. I may well be booking it again next year.

This is a great little place but probably better for adults / older kids than our family with a (very active and fast moving!) 2 year old and 6 year old. The garden is technically 'fully enclosed', however I was disappointed to see that there was a side gate on the front that would easily be opened by a small child and the driveway gates also weren't able to be locked shut in a way that made them child safe. There is also some spaces beside the gates that a sly little one or animal could squeeze through. And being on a fairly quiet, but certainly not deserted, open road speed limit area it made the outside far less usable than I would've hoped as we couldn't let the kids play outside whilst in the kitchen for instance. A shame as it's a decent space and I was looking forward to making use of the outside space. It would also have been good to have some kids outside play equipment of some kind perhaps - even a couple of footballs would've been good but a trampoline / climbing frame even better! Perhaps an idea for the future if the owners wish to appeal to younger families. There was no dishwasher which I personally would've preferred to the washing machine that is provided but I guess for others it may not be an issue. I would've also liked to see a bath mat in the downstairs shower room and to have seen extra towels available. These are obviously small things but it is the small things that can make a real difference! :-) Overall though the cottage is well equipped, the beds comfortable and the owner Rob was very friendly and helpful and did assist quickly with any issues we had and it was a nice base to get out and about in the area. I think there are some great markets around but not really something you can do with a two year old! LOL! Shame as would've loved to do that. Nearby Lincoln was lovely and the beach was only a short 30min drive away though we made the mistake of visiting Skegness which I wouldn't do again! We later found a much quieter beach area which was much more enjoyable. I understand there is good walking around but we didn't do any of those. Rand farm was worth a visit too. Although we wouldn't stay here again it is more a case of we wouldn't particularly feel the need to come to this area again than the cottage in particular.
