This property is part of our English Country Cottages collection

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Enjoy the open countryside as you relax in this tranquil setting, ideally located to venture to nearby towns and coast.

Approached by an impressive driveway flanked by trees, these converted former stables buildings occupy a picturesque setting in the grounds of Georgian Grade II listed Blyth View, once serving as a workhouse. Now converted into residences with extensive grounds and a resident’s leisure facility, Blyth View enjoys an elevated position above the Blyth Valley. Surrounded by open countryside, it makes a tranquil setting, yet the Suffolk Heritage Coast, and the towns of Southwold and Walberswick are a mere 10 minutes’ drive. Dunwich, Minsmere bird reserve, Aldeburgh and Snape are all within ½-hour drive. Shop and pub ¾ mile.

The Old Stables (BNH) and adjoining Lime Tree Cottage (CSG) can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.

Spacious living/dining room with wood-burning stove and rugs on wooden floor. Modern fitted kitchen with breakfast area and wooden floor. Cloakroom with toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms. A beautiful, clean and spacious cottage for a Suffolk family getaway. There were 7 of us, a baby and a dog and we had plenty of room (granted, the 14 year old was on a pop-up bed in parents’ room). The development is lovely, set in the countryside just a short drive from Southwold and Walberswick. It is remote, and the nearest pub is probably half an hour walk on a country road, but that didn’t bother us. Plenty of amenities in Halesworth too - about an 8 min drive. Pool and games room were nice additions. Would love to go back!

Beds too short, not very comfortable. Caretaker unresponsive, did not reply to 2 telephone calls, no message facility. It was not an emergency but could have been. We felt she was rude not to reply to us. No Wi-fi, A level student unable to access course work. However a very enjoyable weekend

A really lovely cottage with lots of personal touches. Loved the welcome tea/coffee biscuits, thank you. Living area was much larger I thought it would be and the children's room is spacious, even with 4 beds up. The pool and games room were a very welcome addition (though boiler was broken second half of holiday and the water was freezing - didn't stop the children going in though; just the adults!). Private garden area was small, though larger than other houses in the complex, but large open space in front on the house meant it wasn't an issue. Only negative was the shower: was very easy to scold yourself and we could only really use it at certain times of the day when no-one else was using any water. Was concerned about the children using it but there was bath!

Beautiful cottage in a quiet location in a nice development with an indoor pool. The cottage is large inside with excellent kitchen facilities and comfortable furnishings. The lack of WiFi is an issue as phone signal in the area is poor. We would be happy to book again when staying in the area.
