Cottage is in a great location. Quite comfortable but in need of a spruce up as looking a little tired, especially the bathroom. A few lamps didn't work, toilet seat was loose and grill pans for the oven were dirty. A few cleaning products and kitchen towel/tea towel would be appreciated.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; It is very interesting to read your comments. Yorkshire Cottages, Whitby are in charge of the management and cleaning of the cottage. They should be checking that the lamps work, that the toilet seat is secure and that the grill pans are clean. Tea towels should be provided. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we apologise. We will be taking this matter up with Yorkshire Cottages, Whitby.

Old Cottage which needs some loving care and attention. Toilet area mouldy due to condensation from shower. A extractor fan would help this problem. The old lino in bathroom and kitchen needs replacing. Looks very grubby. Beds were clean and fairly comfortable. Difficult taking meals from kitchen to dining area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; The floor covering in the kitchen is less than 2 years old. It is in good condition. Bloomswell is a quaint cottage with winding stairs. Care has to be taken when moving from the kitchen to the dining area. We inspected the toilet area and it did not meet our high standards. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have had a word with our cleaners.

One of the cleanest cottages we've stayed in.A bench would fit outside the bottom door and would have been useful to sit out.Great view from the upstairs lounge, comfy seating and a comfy bed.Bathroom and kitchen getting ready for an upgrade but don't let that put you off as everything works well, just needed an extra frying pan, would go back again, many thanks SW Derbyshire

Superb cottage, right in the middle of the village. Convenient for the beach and local pubs. Very comfortable and well equipped.
