The cottage and it's location was great for all our needs. The only thing which spoilt it was that the cottage was in a 30 mph zone, but all vehicles passing cottage were doing more than this speed. But due to the parking area it was difficult to enter & exit without having an extra person on the road opposite as a safety guide. Even then it was a little dangerous.

It was our first stay in this area of Norfolk, and we were really surprised how lovely the views and country side was. The cottage has everything you need and almost everything was of a high quality. Unfortunately the local pub was not serving food as there has recently been a change of ownership, but just a short drive into Stanhoe the The Duck Inn had a good menu and the food was lovely. Thanks to Alex for having such a lovely place to stay, we will certainly be returning.

This is a nicely appointed and presented small cottage; a lot of thought has gone into the equipment provided and the furnishings. Apart from the main bedroom, upstairs is very small and a big bloke like me has to pirouette around the bathroom door to get in. The bed completely fills the second bedroom. The main issue is the speed of the traffic, in both directions on the country road immediately outside the front gate. With no pavement and the off-road parking being 30m north, that’s a bit of a safety issue, especially with a dog and a limited mobility member of our party. That said, the owner happened to be there when we arrived and kindly offered to let us park in a neighbouring property and use the back entrance via the garden.

The cottage is very well presented inside with every thing you will need. But it is on a very busy road and you take your life in your hands getting to the car space which is very small. The garden is a sun trap, not pet friendly and you have to climb some very steep steps that have no hand rail.in the garden was a Mole Trap ! There was no book telling the guests when is bin day etc.

everything excellent, only downside was the noise from the road as although 30 mile an hour traffic raced passed .

The only negative was that the cottage was situated on the main road.

Just returned from Norfolk and had a wonderful time. The cottage is lovely with a nice sun room cum dining. The garden is perfect for a dog (almost sealed)and humans alike - nice seating patio area. I have stayed in a lot of cottages, but none as well stocked as this. Like most have said, the only downside is the road. Pulling in and out is not easy as most drive fast. We did speak to the owner and he is trying to get the council to put speed control measures. The road is a 30 mph speed limit but most drive at around 40mph. I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and reasonably well equipped . Unfortunately no wifi or mobile connection in the cottage. As I wanted to get some work done this was a big problem. Kitchen had all the amenities . Cottage would be lovely for holidays in Spring and Summerbut as the winter was one of the worst in memory it was not something I would want to do again in February.

    Response from:

Thanks for your feedback. We were very pleased to read that you found the kitchen to be well equipped. We do our very best to make sure our guests have everything they need for a lovely stay. We were however very disappointed with the overall score of 5 that you gave us, as we felt the score was very low, given everything that we did for you to try and make you as comfortable as possible during the really cold snap we’ve had this year. Our part of Norfolk actually experienced the worst snowfall levels it had seen in 30 years, which I am sure you will appreciate is totally beyond our control. These were exceptional circumstances and in terms of not wanting to visit us again in February, we are always aware that in winter you do take a bit of a chance with the weather wherever you go in the UK. We are also really puzzled as to your comments about there being no WiFi available too as one of the extra accommodations we made for you while you were snowed in was to allow you to use our personal Netflix account, something which I can see you enjoyed, even though this relies heavily on a strong WiFi signal. As for the mobile signal, like most parts of rural Britain, it very much depends on which network you are on, and again, this is beyond our control and is something that you will find in most areas that enjoy the beautiful countryside that we have. We do understand that the severe weather conditions affected the enjoyment of your stay. We did our best to mitigate this for you and honestly feel we went above and beyond to try and help. We are sorry that Bliss Cottage wasn’t for you. You can see from our other reviews that other guests have had a lovely time there. It is a little slice of Norfolk heaven and we do hope that you find something more to your liking and with better weather in the future.

For the price and the star rating, this is definitely a 10. We had a lovely week and the real bonuses for us were, the country runs on your doorstep, the wonderful huge sandy beach close by, the uber comfy bedding/ bed and the wood burner was fab!
