Explore the beautiful Lake District and the spectacular mountain scenery. A place of awe-inspiring beauty that inspired the likes of Wordsworth, Turner and Beatrix Potter. With nearly two thousand miles of footpaths, you can cycle, ride, or walk to your heart’s content. But you don’t need to stay on land - take to the lakes on a paddle board, rowing boat or try out water skiing or kayaking. Spend a relaxing day cruising around one of the magnificent lakes on a steamer. Alternatively spend the day in one of the Lakeland towns for fabulous galleries, museums, or just great shopping. Conveniently located just 15 minutes from the M6 motorway, halfway between Penrith and Keswick and only a scenic, 20 minute drive from Ullswater.
The Whitbarrow Village resort sits between the famous Blencathra range (also known locally as Saddleback) and northern pennines, offering both luxury and serenity – as well as easy access to the delights of The Lake District. On the doorstep you will find stunning mountains such as Helvellyn, Skiddaw and Blencathra. Also, lakes including Ullswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite are all within a short drive. The village of Greystoke is only two miles away, with its village pub providing an excellent place to eat, drink and relax. Worthy of note, one mile from the duplex is a farm shop which prides itself in offering high quality, locally sourced produce in its shop and café. Nearby Keswick (10-minute drive) is a vibrant town with a great outdoor market and plenty of places to eat and drink.
Its bustling centre has an abundance of quality restaurants, pubs serving local cask ales, independent shops, and the obligatory outdoor and fashion brands. There is a host of delis, bakeries, coffee shops and local craft stalls. Famous for its narrow streets and courtyards, this traditional market town is one not to be missed. There is free access for guests to all the shared village facilities and amenities. Pub 65 yards.
