Steeped in history, the village has castle ruins and a buried village, and the local pub is within walking distance.

Sker beach is accessible by a short walk from the property, where you can take your dogs on this rural beach and take in the fresh air and views. At low tide you can see the plaque which is in memory of those who died on the SS Santampa, and at very low tide wreckage is still being found here. Sker beach is also a great place surfers.

Once you have finished your day exploring, head back to the barn and sit in the large garden, a short walk from the barn, where you can enjoy a barbecue and watch the sun go down. Blakeskerra Barn is a compact accommodation. But every thought has been given to make the stay comfortable and all the space has been wisely used to create that comfort. From the wardrobe with ample shelving, kitchen spaces to brilliant drawers under the sink in the bathroom. Best shower you could possibly want. The log fire looked brilliant, but as we had excellent weather we had no need to use it. The decoration was immaculate and everywhere was extremely clean. You could not fault the enormous and comfortable bed. Many thanks to Denise for all the effort made to make our stay at Kenfig one to remember. (Thanks also for ensuring that we had a bread knife) 👍

Excellent value for money. Good position for those into walking and bird watching on the reserve but also near enough to Cowbridge where there are some good restaurants available. We would recommend this cottage to all.

Amazing little place. The locals are very friendly and helpful. We loved walking in the sand dunes and along the many beaches. The barn is perfect for day visits in the area but also curling up with a book by the log burner. Our dogs loved it all too.

The cottage was small but “perfectly formed”, it catered for all our needs. And because the weather was rather soggy ☔️💨 we were able to light the wood burner. I would highly recommend a visit.

We cannot recommend Blakeskerra Barn highly enough. Denise has done a truly outstanding job with the conversion - everything was just perfect! The location could not be better, with a stunning nature reserve opposite the barn, with a number of beaches within a short distance. The cleanliness and facilities we found exceeded our expectations, and we will certainly look to return in the future. Thanks again!

We loved the cottage with its beautiful views across the nature reserve. The only thing we struggled with was the lack of good WiFi connection & TV channels as after a day out walking, we wanted to relax with a film which we struggled to do but it wouldn’t stop us from visiting the area again.
