Blackmore Cottages are situated down a quiet lane adjacent to Blackmore Gardens, in the heart of the charming seaside resort of Sidmouth. With a central location it is easy to discover the many things to do in this Regency town.
Cottage 1 is set on the second floor of a building that has been split into apartments, accessed via 3 steps up from the lane to the front door and then a flight of stairs to the second floor. The apartment can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests, and it feels light and bright with two en-suite bedrooms and an open plan living space. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need during your stay, perfect for trying out new recipes or old family favourites. After a fun-filled day exploring the coastline, gather around the large dining table for a celebratory homecooked meal and relax on the comfy sofas while watching your favourite programme on the Smart TV with Freeview.
On the same level are two bedrooms, each with a super kingsize zip and link bed (which can be twins on request), high quality pocket spring deep mattresses with Egyptian cotton bedding, and an en-suite shower room. Both are situated at the back of the property looking towards Blackmore Gardens, whilst the living area overlooks the high street. The accommodation is within an easy walk of lovely boutique shops, restaurants, pubs and the picturesque and tranquil beach with its long and level esplanade. This popular seaside town offers beautiful gardens, an array of cafes, restaurants, pubs, shops and access to the South West Coast Path.
Sidmouth is a perfect getaway to explore the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, where you can sit on perfect beaches at the foot of pre-historic red cliffs, created some 240 million years ago. Long beaches are within a short walk, or if you fancy a change of scene the popular beaches of Beer, Branscombe, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth and Lyme Regis with its fossil hunting are within a short drive. Local attractions include Crealy Great Adventure Park, Bicton Gardens, The Caves at Beer, The Donkey Sanctuary, Dartmoor National Park and many more. Towards the western end, the beach rises to a sandstone promontory where you can find Jacobs Ladder and Connaught Gardens, separating the Esplanade from the Western Beach.
The town and the seafront offer a wide range of sporting activities, while quiet serenity can be enjoyed in the town’s parks and gardens. Much of the surrounding countryside has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or is owned by the National Trust. With delightful walks right on your doorstep, Blackmore Cottages is perfect for guests looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of a coastal Devon beauty spot.
