Internally, Blackbird Lodge has an ultra-modern look and is furnished to the highest standard throughout. The spacious living areas are made to feel bright and airy with the large windows and glass doors providing ample natural light. On the colder evenings, warm yourself up using the state of the art wood burner - perfect for a cosy winter break.

Externally, the lodge features a decked area complete with a hot tub. This is a wonderful spot to sit in the afternoon sunshine with lunch, or simply relax in the hot tub after a day of exploring the local area.

Strawberryfield Park is perfectly positioned for exploring everything Somerset has to offer. The historic City of Wells is within easy reach, famous for its cathedral, Bishops Place and Market Square along with the beautiful City of Bath. Also near by is Cheddar Gorge, the gorge is the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain’s oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be over 9,000 years old was found in 1903. You’ll also be a short drive away from Wookey Hole Caves and Longleat House and Safari Park. For those looking to make the most of the sun, you can also escape to the coast in next to no time at all with Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea both close by. With all these brilliant places on your doorstep you’ll never be short on things to do.

We were slightly disappointed with the accomodation when we arrived. It was fairly well decorated but a little uncared for, for example with broken blinds on the windows and leaky shower hoses and screens. The beds were appalling - terrible mattresses and pillows. The lodges were all very close together and arranged in rows which made it feel a bit like a glorified caravan park. It wasnt so bad in winter but in summer when you want to be outside, we would have felt rather sad at a little area of decking blocked in by hedge and other lodges. The hot tub was nice although the decking around it dangerously slippery. We did enjoy the cider barn which was very friendly. The promised secure orchard for the dog was not secure and we nearly lost our puppy the first night as he ran through an open gate in the dark. It was also much smaller than we expected. However, the area was good and there was lots to see and do within a short drive. You do have to drive though. Apart from the cider barn there was nothing within walking distance.

A good quality lodge, a little noisy during the day as traffic nearby, but very quiet at night. Very clean, good equipment, pizza slicer would be handy and bed pillows were poor. No main office to report any concerns, no nearby shop for milk/paper etc. A very relaxing stay overall.
