The North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway offers a relaxing ride through the stunning moorland and forest of Heartbeat country, leading to the Heritage coastline where abbey ruins stand high above the bustling harbour at Whitby, Smugglers’ Coves can be found in Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. The 18th-century house at Castle Howard, NT Beningbrough Hall with its National Portrait Gallery and the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey, provide excellent days out. The property was fine for a three generation family gathering A few niggles! Several beds squeaked No kitchen scissors No childrens plates mugs etc Available for 11 but only 6 cereal bowls Not enough local info plus a map would help. Information booklet needs updating Several pages said" to be completed"! Corner cupboard they recommend went into liquidation in 2016! Overall lovely week and pool was a huge success

Cottage names would have been helpful as no signs at all. Also it would have been useful to have a few more cleaning products for the kitchen. Overall excellent though

Enjoyed staying here, would go again. The downsides were: Heating being set to go on and off at set times of the day, this left us being cold sometimes although there were electric heaters to use, but not ideal to heat the whole cottage and a bit of a nuisance when you're on holiday, to have to start keeping the place warm. Shortage on hot water for showers! Given that it sleeps 11 people, there wasn't enough hot water to accommodate everyone wanting a shower/bath! Only being left one toilet roll in each bathroom was annoying. No tea/coffee on arrival, other places we have stayed always gave the essentials like tea/ coffee/ milk for when you arrive. Swimming pool area was quite disappointing. Very dull and gloomy with only 2 chairs at poolside, again not so good considering the cottage sleeps 11 people. Overall, was a nice place to stay, plenty of room and very clean, just those few things that let it down abit for us.

Had a very relaxing time, lovely cottage, clean and pleasant sorroundings. Couldn't find many faults. TV channels very basic, could have done with Sky sports channels to watch the footy as an additional option. Also couldn't find any walking trails nearby, other than that great place to go to chill out and relax with group of friends or family.

Great stay we would go back. Swimming pool good for the kids. Our only complaint was the beds are uncomfortable and maybe in need of new mattress. But all in all lovely week
