Family weekend enjoyed by all. Having found the drive off the A19 with a sign to the Mill House, the signage on the grounds was lacking making it more difficult to find which property was Mill House and not the Stables nor the Granary i.e. there was no name on each property. We identified the Mill house from the photos in the advertising literature and the site plan.

It is a beautiful cottage and huge with plenty of bathrooms which is exactly what we wanted. We also needed ground floor accommodation for my 90 year old mother whose birthday we were celebrating. You definitely need a car as it's right on the A19 so you can't walk anywhere which suited us perfectly. One very small observation: there were no towel rails in any of the bathrooms at all and one of the bedrooms had no hanging space or drawers. Otherwise, we really couldn't fault it.

Our 2nd time at mill house. Love the location, pool, space and number of bathrooms! It’s clean and housekeeping staff available and friendly. In order for this farmhouse to be outstanding the owner needs to invest in a little more equipment in the kitchen in the way of large saucepans etc and one of the bathrooms had a constant bad smell. However I think we will be back.

We have stayed here twice now, although quite expensive we have had a wonderful time. We have children with us so the use of the pool is a godsend they absolutely loved every minute of it. Fantastic for special occasions where a large group of people want to be together to celebrate, great for quality time with the family.

Booked for family of 15. Plenty of space for all. The grand-kids loved it and were sad when the holiday was over. Staff were very helpful and returned my daughter's bracelet which she accidentally left behind.

It was one of the best holidays I have been on. The Mill House was very clean when we arrived & the caretakers couldn't do enough for you to ensure that you were happy with the place and comfortable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

A great venue for a family celebration and as a base to explore North Yorkshire. The property is spacious and well equipped and children and adults alike enjoyed the pool (we chose this property largely because of the pool facility) and table tennis. The setting is lovely and the grounds are very well maintained and although adjacent to the A19 the property is set back far enough in our opinion for any road noise to be negligible. All the en-suites were a great size, most with bath and shower, and having two downstairs toilets was also useful. If we were to have a 'grumble' about anything it would be that one of the upstairs bedrooms had an eggy unplesant odour for a couple of nights (largely resolved by running taps and ventilating the room) and that some upstairs furniture could do with an update and bed frames tightening. One sofa in the large lounge seemed to have lost its support to the seat cushioning. In a premium priced property these items just let the house down a little. The company that maintain the cottages were very helpful and attended to any issues we raised promptly and as best they could. We enjoyed visits to Thirsk Races and surrounding villages including Hemlsley and the National Centre for Birds of Prey at Helmsley is also well worth a visit. So much that we didn't get to see this time round so we would love return. Would we stay at this site again? - YES!
