Description

A superb detached holiday base for extended family or friends, ideal for exploring North Wales and the borders.

Thoughtfully restored and beautifully presented, this impressive, detached home provides spacious and comfortable accommodation ideal for large families or groups of friends wanting to explore North Wales and the Wales/England borders.
With gardens front and rear, Birchfield is generously proportioned both inside and out. The bedrooms, which all have their own Freeview TV, are a good size and the master bedroom benefits from having its own en-suite and Juliet balcony overlooking the rear garden. Downstairs there is a cosy living room with gas stove effect fire and satellite TV, as well as the ’heart of the home’ which is a large, open plan dining room/kitchen with breakfast bar, central island, a large dining table for more formal dining and a satellite TV. As there is a bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, this property is ideal for those travelling with family or friends that are less mobile, and whilst there are steps up to the front door of the property, it can be accessed from the rear via a ramp. Outside there is a pleasant garden with patio, barbecue, lawned area and hot tub. There is also an external games room, ideal for keeping the children amused on a rainy day.

Birchfield is located in the Denbighshire village of Rhuallt in the Clwydian mountain range which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a bar and restaurant just across the road, which is a popular venue for weddings and events. St Asaph, which is the UK’s second smallest city, is 2 miles away and here you will find a variety of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as the cathedral which dates back to AD560 and is the smallest cathedral in Britain. Holywell, 9 miles, which is known as the ‘Lourdes of Wales’, also has a good selection of shops, pubs and eateries.

The area is very popular with walkers and cyclists, and there are lots of great walks and trails in the area including Offa’s Dyke path which is close by. Other activities available in the area include golf, horse riding and fishing.

Due to its proximity to the A55, Birchfield is the ideal touring base with easy access into Chester, 28 miles, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the Great Orme, 22 miles, Snowdonia, 30 miles, Colwyn Bay, 15 miles, and the Conwy Valley, 20 miles. You can even get to Anglesey in under an hour by car. Great days out for families with children include Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium which can both be reached in 30 minutes by car. The beaches of North Wales are also very accessible. Rhyl and Prestatyn are just 8 miles away and Talacre is 12 miles. With so much to see and do Birchfield really does offer something for everyone and is the perfect base for a fun filled family holiday. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

We had such a lovely time at this house! It was so well equipt for our needs, stair gates, highchair, cots, outside toys... all spotless! We had 4, 2 and 1 year olds plus a 6 month old so the gated garden was iteal for containing everyone! The house was also very well equipped for all the bits you usually forgot... fairy liquid, cling film, a few washing tablets.. little things that make a huge difference when youre away from home with kids! On top of this we arrived to a complimentary hamper which we grazed on over the weekend. Lovely friendly owners who made sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

We had a lovely relaxing time at Birchfield with the family for my Husband's 50th Birthday. The beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in, so much so we didn't want to get out on the first morning! The bedrooms were all stunning, large & luxurious. The kitchen was well equipped and was fitted with good quality Neff appliances. The hot tub was a great hit and we used it a lot as we did the well equipped games room. Overall we were very imoressed with Birchfield , it was an absolute joy to stay in, with great attention to detail and no expense spared with good quality soft furnishings. The owner was very helpful and welcoming and the welcone hamper was a lovely touch. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house to others.

We spent an amazing weekend in this wonderfull cottage!! The house is incredible, very clean, warm and big. The restaurant across the road is very nice and the area really peaceful. The games room is fantastic, bedrooms are well decorated (beds really comfortable. We already miss them), kitchen very big with a lot of utilities, the hot tube is awesome and the smell is really nice in every room of the house. There are board games and everything we needed for such a good weekend! We will stay here again for sure! We loved it!!! Thank you for letting us stay here and have an unforgettable time.

The cottage was amazing! It was clean, warm and well presented. It had everything that we needed. The cottage isn’t by any shops so that’s why it’s only an 8 for local amenities, there is a co-op but I think it’s a few miles away. The restaurant across the road from it was lovely, the food was great. There was ample parking for the five cars that we had with us. There were 10 of us at the cottage, we liked that it had internet, some games for us to play and there was plenty of space. It was lovely having the fire on whilst playing bard games in the evening. The bedrooms were big and the beds were so comfy. The games room was great, and the boys in the group deemed it their area! It had a pool table, darts and a table football game. We contacted the owner’s whilst we were there as the hot tub needed to be refilled and this was done promptly. The welcome basket was a nice touch as well. There was local information about the area and things to do. We will be staying here again

Comfortable week spent at Birchfield. The youngsters 29+ years of age really enjoyed the hot tub and all 6 of us enjoyed the games room Owners were very pleasant and attentive and the welcome pack was extremely nice. The ladies and gents in the party made full use of the Cheshire Oaks outlet center and Betsy is always a favorite to visit . The White House across the road served up very good food and the restaurant in the square at Ruthin serves wonderful meals. The lads went mountain biking and overall a very good time was had by all
