Our second stay in this beautiful cottage, very homely and clean. On arrival we had a delicious home made Victoria sponge awaiting us & our host gave us some fresh eggs from the chickens. I would recommend this cottage.

A relaxing, well thought out, comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage. I won't repeat what others have said about the quality, the welcome flowers and will find out for yourselves. We had a great time here, and found it perfect for four adults. There is nothing that has not been considered, and you will be hard pressed to find another cottage as well-equipped as this one. The only thing we missed was an apron. The lady owner is a delightful person, and goes the extra mile to help out and give advice. We would happily stay here again and recommend wholeheartedly to other people.

Enjoyed our stay at Bills Cottage very much. We visited for the RIAT then explored the Cotswolds. Very comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space for the 4 of us. Nice and quiet and situated close enough to Northleach for provisions when required. My husband booked a flight from Kemble airport and was flown over Cirencester down the Fosseway and over the Cottage, which was a great experience. The owner was friendly and helpful and had made a cake for us which was very kind of her..... thank you. We would highly recommend Bills Cottage and will definitely return when we next visit the Cotswolds.

This was our second visit to Bills Cottage, and hopefully won't be the last. The cottage is very spacious and comfortable and is in a lovely peaceful location. It is an ideal place for touring round the Cotswolds, and only 10 minutes from Bourton on the Water. We arrived to a beautiful homemade cake, fresh bread and milk, and fresh eggs from the farm, courtesy of Mary, the owner. Five stars from us!

It was a lovely cottage. A warm welcome awaited including milk, bread and a lovely home-made cake. Our host later came round to ensure we had everything we required and to bring some eggs! Local amenities didn't score 10 because we were out in the countryside, exactly what we wanted. Local pubs served good food and the cottage was well equipped, including a gas BBQ.

It was our 2nd visit . Loved our stay, good quality and has everything you need and great location. The host leaves lovely flowers and delicious cake, which is a winner! Only small downside was the internet wasn't working due to storms, but they are looking to upgrade so that's not an issue! And only a preference, better mattress.

The cottage itself was very nice, barring a peculiar smell (fish?) in the dresser where crockery is kept. Broadband Internet was unavailable for all but a few hours of the whole week. This was not a huge problem but we have a teenager who was put out, plus we would have liked to have been able to use Netflix in the evenings. We incurred some additional cost as a result. The owner made a reasonable attempt to see if the router was the problem but concluded it must be to do with a service outage. Okay. What cause us real problems was an intermittent drop in water pressure which we noticed two to four times a day, from the second or third day. Each time it occurred without warning and lasted for about an hour, meaning that taps (including bath and shower) upstairs did not run at all and downstairs taps were reduced to a trickle. To make things worse, this seemed to co-incided with times we wanted to run baths or showers. In one instance our 5yo tried to wash his hands at 6:30am and was unable to rinse the soap off. Not a great start to the day! Availability of hot water also seemed to be impacted. Again, the owner waved this off as a problem with the water company who they guessed were doing works in a nearby town and reducing the pressure as part of this. We accepted this the first time it happened but became less and less satisfied with the explanation as the week went on. We took the liberty of calling the water company who confirmed there were no such works and no known problems, except that a call out had been arranged to the farm next door (the owner's dwelling) a couple of days prior (co-inciding with our first report of problems). We feel very much like we've been fobbed off and the issue with the water should be owned by the proprietor. It cast a shadow over the stay and we would certainly not choose to stay there again, let alone recommend it. We suspect as well that problems with the internet were likely to have been a permanent feature rather than bad luck. We appreciate that intermittent services are a feature of a remote location, but had we known how unreliable they would be we would simply not have chosen this cottage and we would most certainly not have paid what we did.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I'm sorry that you were dissatisfied with your stay at Bills Cottage. The dresser has only ever been used for crockery from new; I myself cannot detect a smell of fish, or anything else for that matter. Perhaps it is the Osmo oil the wooden top is treated with, however no one has ever mentioned it before. As it clearly states on the booking form, broadband cannot be guaranteed, and the rural broadband is notoriously slow and unreliable, certainly not up to the speeds enjoyed in most towns and cities. The fault was reported to BT as soon as we were made aware of it. The problem with the water was experienced by the whole village, not just the farm. As we explained when we came round to update you, Thames Water had been experiencing problems due to works on the main and a new installation at the booster station, and the reason that the call out was to my home was because the whole farm property is served by one meter, and this is the registered address for billing. Whilst I am sorry that you have been inconvenienced, I'm sure that you will appreciate that both of these issues were outside my control and we have done the utmost to get them resolved.

Bill's Cottage was simply wonderful. Warm, cosy and clean. The owner was lovely and made sure we were comfortable. Would definitely go back.
