Hands up anyone who would like a perfect break in the one of the prettiest areas of the Western Lake District! For a cosy getaway and stunning views of the Wasdale Fell range, this rural retreat will tick all the boxes for everything you need.
Tucked away down a quiet country track, you will find spacious and sumptuous accommodation, with excellent attention to detail, from a delightful living room (which was once the classroom of this former school) with feature fireplace and rural views, to a well-equipped kitchen/dining room and a comfortable double bedroom to the first floor. For those who want to be spoilt during their stay, the owners can provide breakfast next door at their Bed and Breakfast for an extra charge and by prior arrangement.
For fell baggers, nearby Wasdale is just a short drive away, with England’s highest peak Scafell Pike overlooking Wast Water, voted Britain’s favourite view. For something less extreme, there are plenty of walks right from the doorstep, or a visit to one of the stunning local beaches which are perfect for your four legged friend to enjoy.
Take advantage of the stunning surrounding scenery as you enjoy a glass of something on the patio, which is the perfect place to reflect on your day’s adventure, or plan the next day. You will have plenty of things to choose from, including Muncaster Castle, or perhaps a leisurely trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, which are all dog friendly too! Beach 4½ miles. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1¼ miles.

Stayed for Christmas. Owners left us a welcome basket full of goodies and even a fresh homemade loaf. Cottage was cosy and comfortable, with everything we would need. On the downside, a) although we were able to use the garden it was not secure and dogs were not allowed to go to the toilet in the garden. Dogs had to be walked along the lanes. This we found out after booking. b)Also, the cottage is attached to the owners home so there was some noise from the front door and walking from the room above the cottage lounge.
