Benchmark Cottage is a warm, detached stone cottage in a peaceful end of the village, opposite the River Esk. A converted stable dating back to 1821, this characterful property retains many original features. Exposed sandstone walls add to its character. Benchmark Cottage sits at Stage 12 of the renowned Coast-to-Coast route and features a south-facing garden with outdoor seating, woodland aspect and on-site parking. You have the choice from the parking bay below to take the stone steps, or you can walk uphill to the cottage entrance. The cottage features two patio areas with outdoor seating, washing line, barbecue and a lawned area.
Stepping inside you are welcomed into the sunroom with a reclining sofa in front of large windows looking into the garden. The beautifully fitted kitchen features a homely kitchen AGA providing a truly country-living ‘feel’ to your stay. Modern appliances throughout ensure that you have everything needed. The living area has a corner sofa and Smart TV, perfect for movie nights. The modern shower room features a rainforest shower and a fold down seat.
