Nice lodge! Don't get used to the british little beds but the lodge is very nice and clean. Everything's in what you need!

We enjoyed our stay at Ben Alder Lodge. It was cool and rained most of the week so we appreciated the good heating system, which always kept the cottage cozy. The kitchen was nicely stocked with all the utensils one would need to prepare meals. We found the cottage was close enough to grocery stores. We either shopped at Lidl in Kilsyth, or Tesco in Kirkintilloch. If we needed something quick, drove to the Co-op in Milton of Campsie. The road leading into the cottage is pretty rough, many holes and ruts, so we took it slow. But the paved section was smooth and good to drive on. It would be great if that pavement was extended. We enjoyed seeing the village lights, looking out over the Antermony Loch, in the evenings. There are nice views from the cottage. It can be pretty dark, as one heads up the road in the evening, so it was helpful to have motion detector lights, that activate as you walk the path to the cottage. The bed was comfortable, which is a big deal when you are away from home, (thanks!) The shower worked well and we had adequate hot water for use, (thanks for the information about the use of a septic tank), we don't want to waste water! For us the location was very good. It was close to our family and close to many beautiful areas in and around the Trossachs National Park. We enjoy the villages of Aberfoyle and Callander, (close by), and we even traveled north to Stirling, in a reasonable time frame. Thanks for everything, we may contact you again next year, (2018). Cheers!
