The pretty village of Ancrum, 3 miles, has a shop and characterful pub serving local beer, whilst Harestanes Visitor Centre and Monteviot House are just nearby. The property is perfectly placed for exploring the nearby towns of Melrose, Jedburgh and Kelso, where there are ancient abbeys, excellent pubs, restaurants and independent shops. There are plenty of local walks, cycle routes and bridal paths in the area. Golf can be found at Minto and Jedburgh. The city of Edinburgh is just an hour by train from Tweedbank.
