We liked the cottage it was cosy and very quaint. I don't remember seeing any warning about the access being on a steep hill until after I booked or about the awkwardness of parking. However we did enjoy the cottage; we wanted something quiet (maybe not so isolated) to use as a base for daily excursions and St Breock is well placed.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We have amended the details to include that Beehive cottage is 25 metres down a steep hill from where you will need to park your car. We would therefore recommend careful consideration if you have any mobility issues.

We booked this property as we were told it had an enclosed rear garden, a must with 3 dogs. On arrival we found this not to be the case. There was a 7 foot unfenced drop into next door’s garden. Therefore could not use garden. Dangerous for dogs and children alike. A fence would fix this and then we would return. Cottage fab and very quirky. Cooker was old and rusty and should be replaced - all other appliances fine.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We have since replaced the cooker and put a fence up in the garden edges. We hope to welcome you back in the future.

There were significant safety issues with the cottage which I have informed the agents of. Also it should be advertised as not suitable for people with mobility issues as it is on a very steep slope and not accessible with a vehicle.

This beautiful grade 2 listed property, was lovely and peaceful, well equipped & clean (except for a few cobwebs on the landing). As described, you can only reach the cottage on foot down quite an incline, but which wasn't slippery. The parking of cars is at the top and is shared by the other households, although there was always somewhere to park. Despite the Rayburn stove in the kitchen this only supplies two radiators in the bedroom and bathroom, which were only ever warm. However, as it was constant the rooms weren't cold. Downstairs we relied on two portable electric oil heaters for warmth and also used the open fire. The emersion heater was necessary to provide enough hot water. The front door was a little rickety and very draughty. The cottage is in a great location for getting around Cornwall. It's charm, location and peacefulness means we would recommend it and stay there again.

A lovely place to stay our only criticism is that winter holidays we like to explore in the day and cook when we are back in the evening and for such a lovely cottage the cooker is very old slow and outdated and the lack of some pans with lids but apart from this we do like beehive
