We enjoyed a lovely family holiday. 3 generations - 8months to 73 years. The house has plenty of bedrooms, most with en-suite, a spacious lounge & well equipped kitchen. Plenty of hot water for us all. Lovely large dining room so we could all eat together in comfort. The house is well positioned for visiting many local places.

A lovely big old house, full of character. Perfect for our family holiday with plenty of space and lots to do. We ranged in ages from 20 to 80 and had lots of fun with family quizzes in the lounge, card games in the breakfast room and pool tournaments in the bar. A well equipped house with a large dining room to seat 20 and a well equipped large kitchen if you choose to cook rather than try one of the many restaurants in town, which is a 5 minute walk downhill and a 10 minute walk back up!

Beechwood House is a wonderful, very well equipped house, with beautiful large bedrooms and 10 bathrooms to match. It was very easy to cook meals for 15 people with an amazing selection of pans and enough plates, bowls, mugs, glasses and cutlery to still have plenty even when the dishwasher was full. Ilfracombe is just a short stroll away and so family could pop into town at different times for the next cream tea or visit down to the harbour. It takes longer to get back as the walk is uphill, but we all felt fitter by the end of the week. The teenagers in the family spent most evenings in the bar room, playing pool or cards. The lounge was very comfortable and had plenty of settees and chairs. You can get to the coastal path, with amazing views, by walking up the path at the side of the house. We also had great days out surfing at Woolacombe Bay, fishing trips, pony trekking and playing pitch and putt. We had three generations of family and all really enjoyed our week.

We all had a great time at beechwood house. A couple of the beds could do with new mattresses for better comfort. Everything we needed was available and we did not need to contact the owners during our stay. The house would benefit from a thorough spring clean as some of the original features needed some care. Difficult to do in the few hours of changeover. Discription and photos are accurate on the website a great base for a great holiday
