The cottage was clean and welcoming. Little extras ( washing up liquid, soaps, tea, coffee, milk etc. were unexpected. Two good pubs, one serving food, nearby. Lovely coffee shop across the road and supermarket five minutes away. You need to take your own coat hangers, which we didn't know, but overall we had a really lovely week.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are so pleased you had a lovely weekend. We apologise that the coat hangers had been removed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention as we have now been able to replace them.

Beech Cottage is lovely. We had a great short break and Doug the dog was secure in the rear garden. Fabulous comfy bed, great bath and shower. Quiet and well situated for the coast. The village has two pubs, a shop and a great cafe. We’d happily recommend it.

The best room was the bathroom..amazing bath. Bed very uncomfortable and no warning that the stairs were really steep. The cottage was very clean. Area very quiet but issues with parking near cottage. Lovely bag of dig treats. Welcome osck is shortbread biscuits and hotchocolate sachets.. oint if milk. There is no table to sit and eat...the stools are under the breakfast bar but no room to eat due to lack of surface...cant get knees under bar. Ideal for short break.

We loved the cottage and the welcome gifts (our dog was very excited about her gift!) and had a great stay. The cottage was immaculate and very well presented, with an enclosed rear garden which meant we could let our dog roam outside. It's an ideal area for dog owners, with plenty of walks and a cafe and pubs that welcome dogs nearby. When we're away we like to cook evening meals, so the only minor thing missing for us was a dining table, but we made use of the smaller tables available and very comfy sofa instead (which was a nice change). Thank you!

Had an excellent 4 nights at Beech Cottage with everything we could ask for. Very clean and room for our dogs crate. Door to stairs handy to stop dog going upstairs and gardens front and rear a bonus. There is a passage which runs front to back of the cottage very handy for storage and doggy items. Lots of nice touches, lovely modern bathroom, wireless thermostat and wood burner (which we didn’t need) would definitely stay again!!

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the only downside no table or chairs to eat from just a breakfast bar and no downstairs toilet, there is a lovely outside patio with table and chairs weather permitting. Please note the local pub does not allow dogs on Friday and Saturday rather annoying as there is a sign outside saying dogs welcome.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. Your comment about the table and chairs, in addition to the breakfast bar, is a good idea and we will give that serious consideration. Yes the Plough does not allow dogs on Friday and Saturday evenings because it can get busy with diners. However, the Nags Head which is the pub nearest to the cottage, has no restrictions and welcomes dogs 7 days a week.

Lovely location and setting with good walks for dogs and humans alike. Our two Westies were certainly entertained with local dogs and the abundance of other Westies. The side corridor is excellent for the dogs with access to the garden - a tap and hosepipe would be a good addition for washing mucky dogs? The owner had given thought to securing off the small open points in the garden to keep the dogs in and the dog biscuits were enjoyed by both. Utensils and facilities in the kitchen were good though the oven needs the light replacing and as suggested by other guests a proper drainer would have been appreciated at the sink. The breakfast bar is a good thought in the kitchen however, it is essentially taking up greatly used work surface and the chairs a bit high for the height of the work top - a folding round table at the living room window would have been very useful to replace the arm chair instead of eating meals off of your lap on the settee. A lovely mirror in bathroom however, a mirror is needed either above the sink or chimney breast in the bedroom or both for shaving and makeup. Would definitely go again and have already recommended to others - wish we were staying another week.

Enjoyed a weekend stay at Beech Cottage. Excellent location for exploring the area & plenty walks from the door. Village is quiet with good amenities, pubs, restaurants local shop. Lovely food at The Plough. Doggy biscuits on arrival, tea, coffee, milk for settling in. A very comfortable stay. Would recommend.
