Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Explore both the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales from this cottage, with plenty of walking and cycling routes to enjoy nearby.

Boasting exposed beams and a superb wood burner, this charming, mid-terrace stone cottage can be found on a small row on the outskirts of the West Yorkshire village of South Crosland. In a semi rural setting, to the front is beautiful open countryside, yet the location is within easy reach of a whole host of fabulous Yorkshire towns and villages, as well as the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The delightful village of Netherton is just 5 minutes away, and is home to local amenities including a pub and a couple of shops. The village of Slaithwaite can also be reached in around 5 minutes, and has an awe inspiring viaduct dominating the skyline, delightful independent shops, pubs and eateries, as well as the Huddersfield Canal winding its way through the centre.
The bustling moorland village of Marsden and the National Trust’s Marsden Moor Estate can be reached in around 10 minutes, and the large market town of Huddersfield and traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth in around 15 minutes. Huddersfield is home to fantastic amenities, and Holmfirth, best known as the setting of ’Last of the Summer Wine’, is full of narrow twisty lanes and a wonderful selection of traditional pubs, shops and eating establishments.
The northern Peak District and the southern Yorkshire Dales are both within easy reach, offering diverse countryside and great walking and cycling opportunities. Just over an hour’s drive can take you to the historic city of York or elegant Harrogate, both perfect for a day’s shopping. This cottage really does make a perfect retreat for walking, shopping and exploring alike. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lovely cosy, warm cottage, and so convenient for visiting our relatives in Huddersfield and Halifax. On road parking but always space in from of the cottage for parking our 4x4. Plenty of good safe off road dog walks nearby, much appreciated by our labrador! The only thing missing was a 'welcome pack'. After a 6 hour drive from Kent in a fully loaded car, we had to find a shop for some milk, coffee etc. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Bedrock - a weekend away with my Mum and sister. Couldn't have asked for a better location - comfy and cosy cottage with all the amenities you'd ever need. Walking in to music playing on the radio and the wood burner set to light was a perfect touch. Immaculately clean with THE most comfortable beds. Just a short drive in to the village with plenty of eateries, pubs and shops. Really, really enjoyed our time there and really felt like a 'home away from home' and we can't wait to return. The WiFi wasn't always 100%, but to us that was a blessing because it meant we could practice the modern art of conversation! Thank you very much to Alan - we will see Bedrock soon!
