This was our second stay at Beachside and just as good as the first

A good base for exploring the South Downs and coast. Much history nearby, esp. Romans. Very strong point the excellent and frequent bus service to Chichester. Lovely walks from the door and within striking distance of two RSPB reserves.

This was an ideal location for what we wanted to do with good links to Portsmouth and Southampton. The house is well maintained and very clean. You are also able to take your dog.

Very pleased with the house which was spotless and well equipped. Would stay there again. Small parade of shops five minutes up the road with a fantastic butchers and bakers, larger Asda about 10 minutes away where you can get everything that you want from a bigger shop. Local pub, Lifeboat reasonable pub grub and good atmosphere. Good walks along the front and to the local shops. Best meal we had was at the Blacksmiths Arms on the main route out to Chichester. Only criticism is the shower in the downstairs shower room which isn't a power shower.

A very pleasant stay. A fantastic base for attending an event at Goodwood and well equipped for a large family. Excellent value for money.

The owners had a complaints log which was almost full. We added our comments that the leather furniture was scratched by dogs and not comfortable at all, the cushions were all ripped and torn, there were no oven gloves which came as a shock when we cooked our first meal having to use a nearby towel which was not safe, the washing line came adrift of the brick garage and had to be relocated somehow by means of using a nearby stone to affix it between the mortar, there were not enough clothes pegs -which when you consider it sleeps 8 - we had to buy new ones, the kitchen furniture was like school furniture and really uncomfortable and the new shower which had supposedly been installed recently came through with less than a trickle. The downstairs toilet and shower room requires completely refurbishing and we do not consider it good value for money.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: There are oven gloves in a kitchen drawer as there have always been. A new electric shower was installed by a registered plumber on the 19th June 2017 at considerable cost. Next time we have access to the property we will review to see if there is a genuine problem. We will arrange for some additional clothes pegs. Unclear of the meaning of the kitchen furniture was like school furniture. There is a kitchen table that is of a size that seats 8, and the chairs were from IKEA marketed as kitchen chairs. Unclear of why the downstairs toilet and shower room need completely refurbishing, when we were at the property on the 6 July the toilet works as expected, the wash hand basin works as a wash hand basin. If there is a problem with the shower then as previously mentioned it will be investigated. The complaints book was not full, the book that is nearly full is the comments book. This was started when the house was first let as a holiday property 11 years ago, and the overwhelming majority of the comments are positive.

Lovely location. Ice cream, beach, lifeboats and park all in little leg walking distance Property rather tired, but utilitarian- what we needed with young children. Shower sadly in need of something- almost no power at all! Very friendly helpful neighbours

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: I visited the property yesterday and the shower is working perfectly with a good flow. It is not a power shower and not advertised as one. As long as the power button is pressed fully the shower works as expected.
