Visit Port Lympne Wild Animal Park with tapirs, black rhinos, elephants, tigers and lions, and the world’s largest gorillarium ‘The Palace of the Apes’ and the African Safari Experience. For a more leisurely day out, enjoy a ride on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Steam Railway from Hythe to Dungeness Lighthouse, via Dymchurch and New Romney. The Lower Leas Coastal Park at Folkestone is ideal for cycling or spend a day at the races at Folkestone Racecourse. There is golf, sailing and fishing locally, and good train connections to London. Beautifully decorated & convenient for the beach. Good local bus service but parking was difficult.

We were here with 4 adults., Everything was neat and tidy. The place was as it looked ont the internet. Pity we couldn't park our car near the appartment all day. I had to park a few streets away where I could park all day. The street in front is very busy. There are some nice places to visit near the house. Some nice pubs are near the appartment. We would certainly consider visiting the same place again

An enjoyable stay. Not the best beach in the area by far but nice to have on the doorstep when not wanting to travel to get the sand. This beach is heavy stone. The immediate vacinity has a base level of amenities, but nothing exceptional. The flat is located in a block of largely social housing which was not expected, no issues around this were encountered however. The flat is secure and feels safe. The location is one street back from the coastal road where the more premium locations are situated. There is a pleasant view from both the lower and upper floors with the master bedroom enjoying a view of the sea. Parking was a concern but turned out to be fine with a resident visitors pass, although you do need to fight for a space between 10am and 4pm and have a 2hr max parking time without it. Free parking is about a mile away between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The owner is mega helpful and this was a huge plus. Also the flat is very well appointed with nice bed sheets and modern and relatively new equipment.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your valuable feedback and we are glad to hear you had an enjoyable stay. I just wanted to respond to a couple of points so if you were just unlucky future guests don’t have the same issue. It’s possible when it comes to parking we hadn’t made the map we created obvious to find. There are two car parks very close to the apartment, one is to the left when standing with the apartment behind you looking at the sea, and it is a lovely 1 minute short walk along the sea front. The car park charges £5 per day last time I looked. There is a free, stay as long as you like car park probably the same distance, but you turn right from the apartment. We also offer a visitor permit for the day of your arrival. You can also find spaces on the road. Re the amenities for younger families, there is the Lower Leas coastal park with a playground and amazing sea views and a coffee shop. There is of course the beach and then a 2 mile walk into Folkestone with the Harbour arm and creative quarter. In the other direction Hythe is only 3 miles away and has boat hire and lovely walks along the Military canal. The Dymchurch steam miniature railway is in Hythe, our children enjoy this. Port Lympne zoo is a short distance on the motorway. Other guests we know have used the apartment as a base and gone to France or London for daytrips. Ashford is close by and offers retail therapy at the outlet centre, plus lots of restaurants / cinemas. There is also Folkestone town centre. Re the beach, yes it’s a stone beach, we prefer it because the swimming is fabulous and it never gets crazy busy and always clean and kept well. There is a sandy beach, called Sunny Sands, in Folkestone so about 2 miles away. Also, sandy sections along the sea front between Sandgate and Folkestone. There is also a huge sandy beach in Dymchurch which is about 8 miles away. Glad you were happy with the apartment and bedding etc. hopefully it covered all your needs.

This is a lovely apartment, and it is beautifully decorated in a beach style theme. Do not be put off by the rather municipal stairs leading up to the apartment, once you get inside it is delightful. We had a lovely break and particularly enjoyed the fresh baguettes from the Comemos cafe down the road. Thank you very much.
