Beach Side is a first floor apartment, located on the coast at Westgate-on-Sea in Kent. Boasting dominant sea views, this property is a great seaside escape for couples looking for a relaxing holiday by the coast. Thoughtfully furnished to a good standard, the open plan living room has bi-folding doors, which open onto the balcony, with uninterrupted sea views. The spacious bedroom offers a double bed and an en-suite shower room, plus there is an additional family bathroom with a spa bath. Beach Side has the benefit of the local beach and its cafés just over the road. Visit Ramsgate and its bustling harbour, or the stunning Viking Bay in Broadstairs. Play a round of golf or hire a bike and attempt the 28-mile long circular Viking Coastal Trail. Indulge in some oysters at Whitstable, or visit Canterbury with its famous cathedral and boutique shops. Beach 10 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

    Unloved - a potentially superb, modern, first floor apartment within 50 feet of the beach and with views of spectacular sunsets, this could be a truly wonderful retreat; but, it needs upkeep and some TLC. The advertised bi-fold doors are only semi-functional (being 'bodge-fixed', with a wooden stake to prevent them being fully opened); the adjacent wooden laminate floor is 'lifting' and in poor repair; and the balcony, a surprising step down from the living room, and whilst large enough to stand on, is too narrow to accommodate a chair and was in desperate need of a clean - albeit the salt encrusted glass screen panels provided a degree of privacy to compensate for the lack of blinds on the bi-fold doors. Generally, the points raised previously regarding the quality of bedding and towels still need to be addressed, as does the stained floor in the bathroom, evidencing the earlier reported leaking toilet, etc. Surprisingly, there was a marked absence of the ‘Welcome Information’ provided with other holiday rentals: location and contact details for the local hospital, doctor, dentist, police station; recommendations for local shops and amenities; the various do’s and don’ts; as well as recycling capabilities and collection days; etc. Positives, though, included the location; allocated parking; the lift (a boon, particularly with moving luggage in and out); the ‘Blue Flag’ beach, with lifeguards; local café and the beach bar. Overall, we’re regular users of holiday apartments and have been pleased with the various rentals we’ve taken over that time; but, with Beach Side, the impression gained is of it being more a short term ‘property let’ rather than a holiday apartment. Disappointed? I don’t know; although, on balance, I’d probably return.

    Spacious, clean, 1st floor flat in quiet location. Lift available - useful for taking luggage in and out. Well equipped with excellent view of the beach. No secure Wi-Fi, which would be a useful addition for finding out what's on/where/when etc as few leaflets in flat. (We left some for future guests) In Winter a curtain would be nice for the large window to make flat more cosy. Bus stops just up the road. Good service to Margate where one can link with Loop service to Broadstairs and Ramsgate. Made use of this over busy B/H w/e when parking everywhere would have been difficult. Good coastal walking/cycling available on the Viking Trail.

    The only things that would improve the property, probably would b a king size bed instead of double as the bedroom is plenty big enough, better quality quilt and pillows on the bed as they were very flat, waste bins needed in bedroom and bathrooms, and laminate floor in lounge dinner repaired as lifting up near by fold doors, the bathrooms were very nice, lovely powerful showers, and a nice sized bath, the kitchen was well equipped everything u needed, lovely fridge freezer, decent oven and hob, the apartment was spotlessly clean, would definitely stay there again

    Underfloor heating kept us warm and cosy in a week of wintry weather. The view from the flat over the beach is stunning with always a variety of activities and changing seascapes to see. Equipment is modern, though kitchen utensils could be more comprehensive. Great advantage to have the dedicated car park. Westgate definitely more attractive and up-market as a town than Margate. Great variety of walks/cycle rides available from the front door. The floor leaks from both loos need fixing but it was great to have 2 ensuites.

    Lovely apartment stunning view . Just a couple of points, towels worn out and stained . We felt a blackout blind was needed in the bedroom and also some privacy blinds for the bifold door when it it became dark at night.

    Really enjoyed staying here, excellent sea view. Fantastic little apartment. Just a couple of points we would like to mention, upon using the jacuzzi bath, we and the bath tub were covered with muck from the water jets. Noting that it hasn’t been used much or cleaned thereafter. Also, the pamphlet on the wall that offered us help from Graham if we needed it proved ineffectual as Graham admitted that he had never visited the apartment and couldn’t offer the help that we asked for (We couldn’t work out how to use the electric hob) In addition, there is a step from the car park level to the buildings front entrance area. This is in the same brick finish and impossible to see at night as I found when I went flying!! An outside light would be recommended But overall, we loved the apartment and will recommend it to friends and family

    Perfect location and views the photos do not do this beautiful place justice. You must go to Westgate On Sea cinema for £2.50 and the fish and chip shop too. Lots to do in the area lovely beaches Wish I was back there again already.
