Beach Cottage is the perfect place for those seeking a fun, action-packed holiday and those wishing to relax alike.

Beach Cottage is a very old terraced fisherman’s cottage on the coast road on the outskirts of Cley with uninterrupted views across the Cley marshes. Formerly two cottages of traditional brick and flint construction, it has been renovated with simple decor in keeping with its humble origins. The cottage is set back from the road and accessed by a track and parking is available on the side of the track on a grassy area.
The cottage is E-shaped with two storey ’wings’ with small rooms on each side. A small entrance porch leads into a single reception room, half of which is a seating area centred around a wood burner and half of which is a dining area with a table which seats eight people. The sitting area has a TV, DVD player, a Freesat box with recorder, and a CD player. From the dining area a door leads into a small quiet room/study with easy chairs and a small desk. From this room a traditional cupboard staircase with winding stairs leads to a small front bedroom with a 3" bunk bed. The door to the kitchen is off the seating area of the main reception room. The kitchen is small but well-equipped with two under the counter fridges (one with an ice box), cooker, microwave, 8 plate dishwasher, washer/dryer, kettle and toaster. A second staircase with winding staircase goes up to a large bedroom with a double bed, and two bedrooms which are best regarded as a family room as it is necessary to go through one bedroom with a small bunk bed to get to the front bedroom with a double bed. Apart from the shower rooms, all the rooms overlook the marshes. From the back of the kitchen a stable door opens onto a short passageway leading to a paved outdoor eating area and the south facing walled garden, which is planted with herbs and scented plants. Three steps lead up from the small lawn (artificial grass) to a large paved terrace with seating which has views across the marshes to the sea.
Cley next the Sea itself has lots of amenities with artisan places to shop, eat and drink, or venture further and you will find a coastline littered with a string of pretty coastal towns and villages offering a variety of wide sandy beaches, shingle beaches, marshes and pretty quays. With Cley next the Sea beach just a few hundred yards from Beach Cottage, you can even enjoy a day by the sea on foot. Golfers can head west to Brancaster or east to Sheringham or Cromer. Bird watchers will be spoilt for choice and will find the Cley Marshes Visitor Centre just a short walk away. Walkers and cyclists will find an abundance of picturesque coastal routes right on the doorstep, and having worked up an appetite, you will be delighted to discover North Norfolk’s emerging ’foodie’ reputation. Beach ¼ mile. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Great location. A few minor gripes, but owner made aware. Very firm beds and extremely steep stairs to bedrooms.
