Beach Bothy is a quintessential seaside cottage. Situated in a small lane amidst a labyrinth of tiny streets in the heart of an historic part of Nairn known as fisher town, this charming detached stone cottage was once the home of the fisher folk who lived here in the 19th century. The cottage has been superbly refurbished and renovated by the current owner in 2019 and now provides a cosy and welcoming holiday home in an attractive location. The living room has a wood burner and a seaside cottage theme. The kitchen is small but bright and modern, with clever use of space. The main double bedroom is on the ground floor. It is prettily presented, with colour co-ordinated soft furnishings. There is a modern bathroom with bath and shower on the ground floor and upstairs is a generously proportioned twin room that runs the length of the cottage. This delightful room provides an ideal space for children as well as adults. The courtyard garden at the front of the cottage has flower borders and a large picnic table for al fresco dining. The fisher town area is just a short walk with all amenities that the delightful Victorian seaside town has to offer. There are two superb long sandy beaches here, just 200 yards from the cottage. In the forefront is an original seaside promenade and a distinctive Victorian bandstand. The harbour area is still well used, with small fishing boats and yachts coming and going. A boat trip from here is likely to result in encountering the famous bottle nosed dolphins that live in these waters. There are plenty of good restaurants, bars, cafés, shops and supermarkets all within easy reach. The immediate coastal area is renowned for its nature reserves with pine clad forest walks leading down to the open sea. Mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, fishing, golf, hill walking and climbing are all local pastimes. Inverness, the capital of the Highlands is just 20 minutes’ drive away. Beach 200 yards. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
