A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Take a break with your family to this beautiful holiday property and enjoy all the sights and activities that surround Baytree House.

This well presented detached home offers deceptively spacious, light holiday accommodation, located in the quiet cul-de-sac yet very convenient for many local sightseeing attractions, suitable for families or couples. All the bedding in the property has 180+ thread count and are anti-allergy. There is so much to do in the area – Wimborne, 2 miles, is a quaint market town with a model village, a theatre, a cinema, coffee houses, shops and quaint inns. Wimborne Minster, built in 705AD, was founded by the mother of Henry VII, and is famed for its chained library and the tomb of Alfred the Great’s brother. Also, The Gin House has a large selection of over 130 different gins available, and there are various festivals and fairs throughout the year.

Within easy driving distance are beaches at Sandbanks, Studland Bay and Bournemouth, Poole Nature Reserve, Brownsea Island, the National Trust-owned country house Kingston Lacy, and to the west, The Purbecks, Corfe Castle, and the Jurassic Coastline. Badbury Rings is an Iron Age hillfort and, according to myth, is cited as the place where King Arthur fought his greatest battle. For outdoor enthusiasts there are various walks within easy reach, plus for a family day out, visit the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Cranborne Chase or the Moors Valley, which is suitable for all age groups and it is also dog friendly. As well as scenic walks and excellent wildlife spotting, there are a host of recreational activities such as angling, orienteering, cycle hire, golf, ‘Go-Ape’ Treet Top Adventure, Forest Segway, walking groups, canoeing and péntaque.

Avon Heath is also nearby ideal for keen amblers. The New Forest National Park is easily accessible, and provides miles of scenic walks and a network of bridle paths and footpaths, and you can often find ponies and cattle roaming the streets in one of the many picturesque villages. There is a waterpark near the charming town of Fordingbridge which also has a host of shops, cafes and eateries, and the gentle flowing River Avon. Bay Tree House is convenient for road links to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, Christchurch harbour, and Stonehenge. Other attractions include Marwell Zoo with peppa Pig World, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bovington Tank Museum, and the New Forest Otter and Owl Park. Maritime Southampton and various other tourist attractions are sure to keep you entertained during your stay. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Immaculate, well equipped house with spacious enclosed garden in small pleasant road on outskirts of Wimborne. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches like a nice welcome pack of Dorset cereals, hand soap and towels in all bathrooms, plenty of hooks for hanging things, dog treats etc. Games room if the weather is not so nice which - fortunately - we didn’t need to use. Local Spar and cash point 30 secs walk away. For larger supermarkets there is Waitrose, Coop (in Wimborne) and Tesco all within about 2 miles. Nice local pub and riverside walk both within easy reach. About 15 mins walk (or 1 minute drive) to a lovely park with woodland, field (for exercising dog), pond and children’s play area. About two miles into the centre of the beautiful town of Wimborne. We used as base for trips to the beaches at Bournemouth and Poole, cycling in the New Forest (Burley), all within 20-30 mins depending on traffic, and Beaulieu, Bovington and Monkey World (a bit further afield). Note traffic on the nearby A31 can be pretty heavy in summer if you’re not used to the area. Dorset is so beautiful and dog friendly. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Baytree.

Overall it is a nice house and a prime location maybe the settee could be changed as it was not very comfortable and maybe provide a few pegs to hang your washing on the line

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Apologies for the lack of pegs - it seems all were somehow removed by previous guests - now replaced. I'm very sorry you found the sofa less than comfortable which has not been mentioned before. It is quiet a new sofa but I do appreciate that leather sofas do not appeal to all which is why - I have provided large scatter cushions for added comfort . Apologies again and very much hope to have an opportunity to welcome you back to Baytree House.

The house was comfortable and well equiped but we are unlikely to visit the area again

The house was lovely with everything in it you would need. Very clean and comfortable, even toilet rolls supplied. Did not realise it was so close to the A31 but after the first night you got used to it, if the windows were closed you could not hear the traffic.

Lovely property with all the mod cons. Pleasant garden. Good location for visiting the many local beautiful beaches and local attractions. We throughly had a wonderful holiday. We received a welcome bottle of red wine and a selection of cereals. The only downside was that the rubbish bins are collected on a fortnightly basis so they were half full when we came so unfortunately we had to leave a full bin for the next guests.

Owner very helpful and informative. The good: * Generous bedrooms * Enclosed garden and hosepipe for dogs. * Good size upright freezer and larder fridge in the games room (as well as undercounter fridge in the kitchen) * Comfortable armchairs and large TV with Sky ( for rainy days). * Excellent pub within walking distance - The Old Thatch much better than the Fox and Hounds. The not so good: * Traffic noise: This property is very close to the A31 and Canford Bottom roundabout, so there is traffic noise from very early to very late which was a problem for us. * Uncomfortable beds. * Kitchen wasn't as clean as it should have been, but the owner called in a professional oven cleaner the following day to clean the oven. * Various minor maintenance niggles (my daughter sat on one of the beds and went straight through, due to previous repair not undertaken properly. bedroom blinds faulty, either jammed or fell on your head, kitchen tap leaking and utility tap difficult to switch off, shower trap not clearing, broken guttering) some of which had been previously reported, but not fixed.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. So very sorry to hear that you had a less than perfect break at Baytree House. I do always look to ensure Baytree House is a home from home - both welcoming and comfortable and again apologies if you feel this was not so. I confirm that all matters raised have now been resolved and really do hope to have you stay again at Baytree House.
