Bay Tree is a delightful cottage with oodles of character and charm: beams and traditional features. Situated in a peaceful location in Nordham, on the edge of North Cave, there’s ample walking and cycling from your door. The cottage is ideal for couples looking for a well earned peaceful and relaxing break away from it all: snuggle in and relax - read a book, play a game, or watch a film in the cosy sitting room with its attractive gas fire. The kitchen has been revamped in 2022 and now has a washing machine. The sunny courtyard garden has a table and chairs to enjoy daytime and evening sunshine with bay tree, cherry tree, herb garden and roses on the courtyard wall. There are two sun beds for relaxing on in the sunshine and a barbecue is available to use on request. There is off road parking for one car and free on street parking in front of the cottage for visitors. The Old Laundry is available for locking away your cycles if necessary.
Situated just two miles from the M62 makes it easy to get to, and well located to explore the area. It is really close to the market towns of Beverley and Market Weighton, both very popular. The historic city of Hull, city of culture in 2017, is only 20 minutes away and York only 45 minutes away. Both offer many different experiences: The Deep, a day at the races, York dungeons, Viking Museum or retail therapy, theatre or live music.
It’s only 35 minutes from the coast for a grand day out; a walk on the beach and fish and chips! If it’s an activity holiday you are looking for why not try Kayaking, fishing diving on the outside the village, or clay pigeon shooting in the next village.
There’s a play area for toddlers around the corner, with a stream for pooh sticks on the way and a beautiful park and walk for pushing a pram.
North Cave is the Gateway to East Yorkshire’s Nature Triangle and we have a variety of wildlife in our woodland which you can visit, or you can see the bird life at the wetlands where there are stunning sunsets. NGS garden Fawley House is just next door for an arranged visit and there are two garden centres in the village. A veg basket is offered during your stay in the growing season from the gardens at Fawley House. Drewton’s farm shop is really popular for food shopping and for their award winning restaurant. There’s a pub in the village and the very popular Hotham Arms serving great food, a short walk away in the next village. Other pubs serving food are in South Cave, Ellerker, Newbald and Sancton, just over 3 miles away from the property.
This property can be booked together with Horseshoe Cottage (CC253006) to accommodate up to eight people. Apple Loft (UK31565) next door accommodates 2 if up to 10 beds are needed.
Nordham Cottages have been finalists many times in the Remarkable Self Catering Provider category.
