Description

Set in 2 acres of wild flowered pasture, this charming holiday barn retains its original beams and half-timbered walls.

Early 17th century timber framed interior

From its private courtyard, the cottage gate opens onto a network of quiet country lanes and footpaths. The spa town of Malvern, with its theatres, music festival and famous wells lies just over the hill. The lovely county town of Ledbury is within easy reach and the Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Wye Valley and Welsh Marches are all readily accessible. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Ground floor: Open plan with living/dining area/kitchen with French door and flagstone floor. First floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Beams throughout.

Lovely break. Hosts were attentive and helpful but never intrusive. Cottage was cosy and comfortable. Malvern Hills within easy walking distance. Fabulous countryside on the doorstep.

Wonderful hosts, a beautiful place to stay. Don't walk into the beam! A convenient distance from lovely local towns.

Lovely place for walkers, a bit of a walk to the nearest pub. Sofa and arm chair could do with being replaced. Owners friendly and helpful with two cute dogs who visited every day. It is an old charming cottage which we really enjoyed. If you need modern it is not for you. Excellent touring location.

The holiday let is a cosy, rustic, wooden-beamed one-up-one-down extension to the owners' cottage, with excellent facilities, clean and perfectly presented. The owners couldn't be more helpful and accommodating, but never intrusive. Not totally recommended for the less physically able, as there is a massive wooden support beam which must be ducked under, 4 feet above the floor between the top of the stairs and the double bed, although the downstairs sofa also converts to a bed. Likewise, the nearest shops and pub are a drive or a stiff walk away and this is a hilly area. Nevertheless, tenants have free run of the large grounds, the location is absolutely ideal for sightseeing trips by car, and there is some excellent walking to be had for those of an energetic disposition! And seriously, this is one of the most beautiful spots on the planet.
