Paignton, Torquay and Brixham are also great places to visit, as are Exeter and Plymouth, both within 30 minutes’ drive. There are many National Trust properties including Agatha Christie’s summer home ’Greenway’, well worth a visit. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure park, or Go Ape in Haldon. If you are bringing a bicycle, there are many cycle ways off road to be explored, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track all along the estuary. There is so much to see and do in this glorious part of Devon. Beach 6 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

We have visited Bardon Lodge twice in the last 6 months and we find it the perfect base for us and our dog to explore this part of Devon. Chris and Clare are extremely friendly and helpful but unobtrusively so. We can not find anything negative to say about Bardon Lodge.

We stayed at Bardon Lodge in June 2018 and were so impressed we decided to return in October 2018. The bungalow is beautiful, very comfortable, well equipped and in stunning surroundings. Love seeing the chickens and horses. The owners are wonderful and are on hand if you do need any help or advice but nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful cottage, with plenty of room so our teenage sons could have their own space. Surrounded by lovely countryside, in a peaceful setting. The owners were very welcoming, there was even a cream tea waiting for us ! Lots of helpful advice about the local area, like dog friendly beaches etc. Would recommend, and would love to return again.

An excellent cottage in a beautiful peaceful setting. The welcome by Clare was first class, as one person was in a wheelchair we found that we could easily get around the rooms with no worry and if there were any special requirements Clare was more than happy to help.

We had an excellent stay, Clare and Chris were most helpful the Bungalow is a credit to them, clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, good space inside and out, nothing was too much trouble, a great place to centre yourself for the area we will be staying again, our grand daughter loved feeding the hens and meeting the horses, good for the dogs safe and enclosed around the property with the benefit of two large paddocks for them to enjoy chasing the ball Highly recommended
