Situated just off the A6 which links Kendal to Lancaster, this modern, spacious and comfortable holiday home is ideally situated for exploring Cumbria’s Lake District National Park as well as the neighbouring county of Lancashire. Attached to the owner’s home, this superb annexe offers thoughtfully laid out accommodation. There is a light and airy living room with a dining area and a gas fire for those cooler winter evenings. There is a small separate kitchen which has everything that you need for self-catering should you not want to take advantage of all the great pubs and restaurants in the area. The beautifully presented bedroom with a king size bed has its own dressing area with a modern vanity unit and a separate shower room. French doors from the living room lead out onto to a pretty garden which is equipped with a table, seating and a gas barbecue for al fresco dining. The garden also has its own private gate which provides direct access onto the Lancaster Canal path which runs behind the property. It is a lovely place to either take a gentle stroll or to simply sit and watch ducks and barges go by.The village has a couple of pubs and there is a garden centre and farm shop nearby, both of which have a café. A wider range of amenities can be found in Carnforth, 2 miles away, where you will find several supermarkets as well as a good array of shops, pubs restaurants and cafés.This is a perfect destination for those who love walking as there are lots of great walks directly from the doorstep which offer a variety of landscapes. The canal attracts walkers as well as cyclists and there are also some lovely woodland and coastal walks. The area is also very popular with nature lovers and birdwatchers, especially around Morecambe Bay and the marshlands of Silverdale, which is where you will find the RSPB Leighton Moss, 6 miles away. With the two beautiful counties of Lancashire and Cumbria at your disposal there is a wealth of places to visit within easy driving distance. Morecambe Bay is 5 miles, the city of Lancaster and the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty at Arnside and Silverdale are 7 miles. The bustling town of Kendal, which is regarded as the gateway to the southern Lakes, is 18 miles and Cartmel with its famous race course and sticky toffee pudding is 25 miles. Windermere is also 25 miles. Venturing slightly further afield, Ambleside, Grizedale, Lancashire’s Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland are all within an hour’s drive. Should you wish to extend your holiday to three counties, why not visit the Yorkshire Dales National Park which you can reach in just over 30 minutes.With so much to see and do you will be spoilt for choice and its certainly the type of place you could keep coming back to. Alternatively, of course, you could just choose to simply relax and unwind. Beach 2 miles. Shop and restaurant ½ mile, pub 500 yards.
