Although the bathroom suits the cottage my friend and I are short si found it difficult to climb in and out of (need to get in Bath to use shower). Excellent for my dog with a secure garden front and rear and lots of walks from the door.

Bal-Maiden cottage is cosy and ideally situated for exploring this area of Cornwall. The front garden is enclosed and dog-safe, however the gate opens directly on to the road which at times is quite busy. The rear patio is enclosed and lovely in the evening sun but something to screen off next door would improve the area. The cottage is pleasantly furnished and the kitchen well equipped. The bedrooms are very comfortable. The main problem with this cottage is that the bathroom seriously needs updating.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks very much for your review, and I’m glad you liked Bal-maiden’s Cottage. Sunset from the back terrace is indeed beautiful. We recently planted up the top of the wall between the terrace and next door, so when the plants have the chance to grow they will provide some screening. The bathroom is a little ‘old-fashioned’ – but then the cottage is an old miners’ cottage so we think it is in keeping with the overall style. We love the deep clawfoot bathtub, and views to the Isles of Scilly. Bathroom heating has posed a problem – we haven’t managed to find an elegant solution because of the limited space. However, we will install a fan heater before the coming winter.

Cottage very small to small for me and open stairs my dog .follows me every where . Wouldn't stay down stair kept sleeping on landing nothing I could do about it . As it was a diffrent place and house keeper came in white out permission . Didn't phone to ask came in when I was I regarded this as an invasion . Of my privacy I didn't like that

A lovely week in a very comfortable cottage. Very clean and close to the sea with three dog friendly pubs within walking distance what more could you want?

We enjoyed a lovely week in Bal-Maiden's Cottage. The April weather was very good to us! The cottage is fairly small but has everything you need. The bedding and towels were very good quality, the king size bed was very comfortable, and my daughter loved the double bed in the second bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped, the wifi wasn't the fastest but worked well enough to keep in touch. My only concern would be how cold the bathroom may get in colder months as there is no heating in there. We would certainly stay there again though; it was a very nice place to spend a week in Cornwall.
