A beautiful village to stay in, full of history set in the Somerset Levels. Great local pub and a village Post Office and store. Plenty to visit while you're there. Lots of food outlets, restaurants and pubs.

Cooker had not been cleaned. Extracter fan dripping with grease & the light didn’t work. Non stick saucepans minus the coating! Instructions were given verbally by the owner, after a five hour journey it would have been helpful to have this in writing to refer to. Owner requested we made any comments to her after the last people staying according to her had made scathing comments! Part of the visitors comments had been cut out! We were told if we were going into the garden to have our dogs on a lead because the owners had a cat. The garden was not separated from the owners. The garden furniture was on raised ground which was uneven & dirty with spilt fluid on it. No spin dryer please delete from your website,. Fixed secondary glazing upstairs not able to open, FIRE RISK.Not safety glass no kite mark & had to be removed. Windows below 800, one window wouldn’t open. Black hand marks on the bathroom wall & loft hatch. Floor in sitting room , one floorboard dropped or rotten in the middle of the floor. Owner made aware & advised us he would be repairing/ replacing it. Village might be quiet but the property is on a cut through road with heavy farm equipment going past until 21.30 every night. We left the day before because It did not feel like a holiday. January review states the holiday makers had not been made aware dogs had to be kept on a lead. Why wasn’t something done about this to make people aware as we would not have booked this. In our opinion this is a shared garden where dogs have to be kept on a lead. Blackout interlined curtains would benefit this property to keep the noise & heat out. When did you last inspect this property? We have never made a complaint about a holiday property before but would like to inform other people before they go. This was very disappointing & we could not make any recommendations for this property.

The first thing to say is that the owners are a lovely couple, friendly and helpful, and the village is great. In the cottage, it is a little like living in a museum. Other than the fridge, microwave and TV, everything in the cottage dates from the 1970s or earlier. The overall impression is that the cottage is tired and desperately in need of updating. The cottage has a lovely garden, but despite being advertised as dog friendly, we were asked at the outset to keep our dog on a lead in the garden, as the owners have a cat. Had we known this when booking, we might have considered not booking the cottage. In spite of this, we had a lovely holiday and would happily visit the area again.

Quoted as being dog friendly but no enclosed garden and dogs to remain on leads in garden . If the dogs required to go to the toilet that had to be walked and the cottage really needed a good clean and updating.
