Tucked away, this pretty hideaway cottage will appeal to wildlife enthusiasts as well as couples and families looking for a relaxing country holiday, close to plenty of fascinating historical sites and wonderful coastal walks.


Situated on a lovely, eco-friendly sheep farm, this detached cottage offers a peaceful, rural haven with ample space for a family to relax and unwind.

Ground Floor:
All on the ground floor.

Dining room/conservatory.
Kitchen: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.
Bedroom 1: With kingsize bed.

Nestled in the hills and surrounded by the owner’s environmentally-friendly fields and meadows, Badnague is a lovely single-storey croft cottage. The owner has furnished the interior of this spacious cottage to provide a good standard of accommodation in a tranquil setting.

The main door is to the front of the property and opens onto a small vestibule and hallway. To the rear, is a charming conservatory which also acts as the dining room. This leads through to the modern kitchen, with fully fitted units and is very well-equipped. Solid wood doors open from the hallway onto the living room, which has a feature open fire, a Smart TV where guests can link into Badnague’s free Wi-Fi to enable them to link to their own Netflix account, and deep leather sofas. This room looks out across open fields and moorland, where sheep graze and a wonderful variety of birds can be spotted. There are also three beautifully presented bedrooms and a large family shower room with double walk-in shower. Car parking is available at the gable end of the house nearest the entrance road.

The owner farms the surrounding land, using eco-friendly methods, which encourages wildlife to the area. The wildflower meadows are sustainably grown for bird seed and to encourage bees. On the adjoining open moorland, waders, snipe and curlews are regularly spotted. The owner is a professional sheep dog trainer and visitors are likely to see her with her working collies out on the hill. The local area is noted for its archaeological history and interest, with cairns and brochs close by.

The nearby village of Dunbeath, just over a mile away, has a fascinating heritage centre and an historic castle with gardens open to the public. There are superb coastal walks and a lovely beach just 5 minutes away. The quiet lanes and countryside make this an ideal holiday for cycling, walking, bird watching or just exploring the unspoilt scenery. Situated just off the North Coast 500 route, which passes through some of the most dramatic scenery to be found anywhere in the British Isles, Badnague is ideally located for exploring the stunning, dramatic and completely unspoilt Northern Highlands. Beach 1½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
