Description

Set within an old château’s walls with countryside views, yet close to restaurants and bars in Auxi-le-Château, this charming property is the perfect getaway.

Within walking distance of the town centre of Auxi-le-Château, with its restaurants, bars and shops, this comfortable 3 bedroom holiday home has lovely views across the countryside and is set within the old château ruined walls. Enjoy the view whilst having an al fresco BBQ in the enclosed garden. Fish in the nearby River Authie (permit required) or enjoy cycling or walking the quiet lanes around the town. There is something for the whole family to enjoy. The wide sandy beaches of the Côte d’Opale are about 45 minutes away and make for a great family day on the beach. Historians will enjoy the diverse history of Arras, walking around the cobbled squares or maybe climbing the bell tower for its amazing view of the area. A weekly French market is a must and one of the best in the area is at nearby Hesdin on a Thursday where you can buy local produce and souvenirs. We had a lovely stay at this Gite just a few comments... neighbours at the end of the opposite houses had very loud music playing into the night with 3 children who had travelled 9 hours were sleepy not good. Travelling out of the road the neighbours should be more considerate its not a race course. The Gite had every thing you could ask for very comfortable alrhough the Oven with one rack was a bit challenging! Bakers in the square that was recommended was the best bread we tried. Very pleasant stay with good weather to eat out very night although we did experiences the thunder storms while there.
