We have already left our comments in the owners visitor book. This is a perfect cottage for responsible dog owners who enjoy taking their dogs on holiday. It has everything we needed and we will be booking again next year .

Pleasant cottage, well maintained and with a friendly helpful host. Only downside was cottage was away from everything so you will need a car to get everywhere but we still enjoyed our holiday even though the weather was not too kind

We stayed at Apple Tree cottage for 3 nights & did not want to come home. It was perfect for us & the 3 dogs with lots of space & a secure garden. The weather was not to good but it did not stop us from doing anything & we still enjoyed lovely walks on the beach nearby & the children enjoyed going into Hunstanton to the arcades.

cottage situated on a busy main road without a path to walk anywhere. cottage itself was dirty especially floors and carpets in the bedrooms. Stained and smelt of dog wee.We could also hear vermin scratching in the walls and roof space at night. The microwave was rusted and cooker hob was dirty and knob was broken.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I'm sorry you had such a disappointing holiday at Apple Tree Cottage. Pavements can be in short supply in the countryside, but I did explain to the other member of your party where it would be quite safe to walk your pets by using a quiet lane opposite the cottage which links to green lanes and tracks. The start of the metalled pavement in this end of the village is just 100 or so metres to the right of the cottage boundary and from then on it services the rest of the village. As I recall, you remained in your vehicle while I explained this and other items of interest with the other member of your party, perhaps the information wasn't passed on, or maybe you failed to notice it when you went outside. The hard flooring downstairs is routinely washed every change over day without fail. Upstairs carpets are vacuumed. With the weekly influx of visitors and dogs all at once, on a wet day it can soon spoil. I'm puzzled as to how vermin manage to exist within the solid brick walls of an old cottage built pre cavity wall era? I can find no signs of anything untoward, nor or any reports from the adjoining neighbour. Far more likely to be the activities of the families of Starlings which live happily under the eaves and tiles and have raised countless youngsters over the years, or the Jackdaw who visits the chimney pot on occasions. I lived in the cottage for eighteen years and appreciate they can be a little rowdy in the breeding season. I will look at the microwave at the next change over. If it needs to be replaced, it will be. I am aware of the superficial damage to the cooker and the missing shiny trim from the knobs. I never greet visitors with an endless list of do's and don'ts. I like to believe that my visitors are honest, caring and thoughtful enough not to allow dogs into the bedrooms, bathroom or shower enclosure, but this is not always the case. I'm sad to say, earlier this month a couple who came with three little dogs did allow them upstairs, where they chewed and ripped holes in a duvet cover, and through to a brand new duvet, which have all had to be replaced. I tell all visitors as I did yourselves, if there are any problems, contact me. I live no more than 200 metres away and will always try to help.
