You are in the perfect position to explore the beauty of the surrounding coastline as well as the neighbouring North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The Zetland is a Grade II listed property which has been welcoming guests for over 150 years. Opening in 1863 this iconic Victorian building remains the most prominent feature of Saltburn-by-the-Sea.On entering the property you are greeted by grand high ceilings and the sweeping staircases of the hallway, evoking this building’s grand past. The apartment itself is up on the second floor; there is an open plan living and dining area, where you can unwind on the sofa in front of the TV after a busy day exploring. There is a separate kitchen, which has everything you would need to whip up a romantic meal for two. The double bedroom is inviting, it is beautifully presented, with a hanging rail for your belongings. The apartment is complete with a modern shower room. The apartment benefits from both a private designated parking space as well as a lift, making access easy.Located up on the cliff top, you are just a short downhill stroll to the beach, or you can take the heritage cliff lift down to the shore. Saltburn itself is stunning, with a glorious, long sandy beach, a pier, and lots of quirky bars, restaurants and independent shops. This is a surfer’s paradise and no matter what the season, you will see figures out at sea riding the waves.Nearby, you will find a local surf school where you can have lessons and hire equipment so you can join in the fun. As part of the Cleveland Way, you can follow the footpath along the cliff top in either direction to explore the neighbouring coastal towns and villages. With 4 miles of sandy beach on the doorstep, incredible views and the whole of North Yorkshire to explore, Saltburn is a destination you will want to return to time and again. Enjoy the nearby quirky fishing villages of Staithes, 9 miles, and Robin Hood’s Bay, 27 miles, or the unspoilt sandy beaches of Sandsend, 18 miles, and Runswick Bay, 11 miles. Whitby, 22 miles, is steeped in history and there are many visitor attractions that are connected to the town’s fascinating past, such as the Captain Cook Memorial Museum where you can learn about the famous explorer’s life in the port town. A trip to Whitby would not be the same without climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, exploring the ruins and views which tower over the town. Enjoy panoramic views from the summit of Roseberry Topping, 9 miles, a fascinating place to explore for its human and geological history, as well as its abundant wildlife. Walk to the summit then enjoy a lovely pub meal in the pub at Newton under Roseberry. Other attractions include Castle Howard Estate and grounds, 37 miles, one of the finest country houses in North Yorkshire, and Flamingo Land Resort, 32 miles, which is an amazing day out for thrill seekers. This is a beautiful destination all year round, whether you are taking in the sunshine with an ice cream on the beach or watching surfers braving the dramatic waves through the winter months.
