A pleasant cottage in a rural location with lovely dark sky at night and hooting owls. But that means no mobile signal and wifi in the cottage was intermittent and unreliable. We visited in mid-January and it was really cold - the wood burner tried its hardest but...take an extra fleece! Do the walk around the block, go see the bastles and enjoy Kielder. Wallington and Cragside are about 45 minutes minimum. The cooker is quite an antique so don’t expect to cook cordon blue cookery!!!

Lovely cottage with everything you could need, Libby and Caroline were excellent hosts. Not far to Kielder and other beauty spots. Found it a little restrictive with our dog who's used to being off his lead at home but needed to be on his lead around the area as it was mostly road walking with no paths. No mobile signal and although there was wifi could not get internet connection so felt very cut off. Ideal if you want a complete get away and to switch off. Had one meal in Holly Bush Inn whilst there and food was very poor.

What a fabulous place. Great location for Kielder and the Roman Wall, and the beautiful Northumberland coast is only an hour away. There are also plenty of local walks if you don’t want to venture far. The cottage is located in a quiet, one road village with a great pub across the road (The Holly Bush). It had everything we needed for our stay and the owners, Caroline and Libby, are the perfect hosts. The wonderful garden is also worth a mention. We thoroughly enjoyed our week and will definitely book again.
