This is an ideal location for a family wishing to discover Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset with myriad attractions for all the family.

These two delightful, detached, single-storey homes are adjacent to the owners’ field where you can see sheep and sometimes horses grazing. These immaculately presented converted barns have been tastefully styled and comfortably furnished and are ideal for couples or families. The Old Bull Pen (ref UKC3757) has been converted in 2018 and has extensive gardens overlooking the countryside. The Old Dairy (ref UKC2024) is an immaculately presented, converted dairy that has been tastefully styled and comfortably furnished. Both properties have a sitting-out area, garden furniture and barbecue, plus parking for two cars.

Situated on the Wiltshire/Hampshire border, the properties are very conveniently located for exploring the area. They are close to the market town of Andover where you will find shops, leisure facilities and many places of interest. Finkley Down Farm and the Museum of Iron Age are ideal for family days out and why not try one of the history trails such as Danebury Iron Age Hillfort. The city of Winchester is well worth a visit with its cathedral, King Arthur’s Round Table, the Science Centre and Planetarium. Approximately 23 miles away you will find Salisbury with its magnificent 13th-century Gothic cathedral, the Magna Carta and Europe’s oldest working clock.

Guests who enjoy exploring the countryside will find there are scenic walks from the door, including Savernake Forest, Collingbourne Woods and Devizes, with canal barges and lovely walks. Andover is rich in history with Saxon links. Other popular places of interest include Stonehenge, Hawk Conservancy Trust, The Museum of Army Flying, Thruxton motor racing circuit, Longleat House and Safari Park, Stourhead, Wilton House, Highclere Castle (home of Downton Abbey), Broadlands at Romsey, Southampton, Beaulieu Abbey and Motor Museum, Marwell Zoo and Paultons Park with Peppa Pig World. Mudeford, Christchurch and Bournemouth beaches are approximately 50-60 miles away and just over an hour by car. There is also a train to London Waterloo (70 minutes), or to Salisbury heading to the west country. A good farm shop, 2 miles away, offers fresh produce, and there are two golf courses just 7 miles away. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    We had a very comfortable stay at the Bull Pen. Would like to stay again one day. Our thought for an improvement would be an arm chair or a something similar. Everything else was covered.

    We had a lovely week at The Old Bull Pen. The weather was just perfect. The cottage is situated very nicely for trips out each day to places of interest. Cottage was well equipped although the lounge needed another seat to make it comfortable for 6 people. A nest of tables or a coffee table would be useful as well. The patio area really needed a sunshade for the picnic table.

    A very comfortable bungalow which was very well equipped and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the welcome pack was appreciated. The bungalow is situated in a very quiet place and the views from the garden are attractive looking over fields.
