The open-plan living/dining room is beautiful with a welcoming wood burner and outstanding sea views to enjoy as you relax and watch the world go by. The patio doors open directly onto a patio area where you can enjoy al fresco dining on warm summer nights. There’s a fantastic kitchen that’s well equipped where you can cook up a storm enjoying the best locally sourced produce. There are three good-sized bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower room, and twin bedroom located at the front benefitting from breathtaking sea views and overlooking the pretty front garden, with the third kingsize bedroom located at the rear of the property with patio doors leading to the garden where you can enjoy the best of the morning sun. All served by a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside, there is plenty of space to enjoy the fresh air and spectacular views in the pretty garden, planted with beautiful shrubs, with a small fenced wildlife pond to the side, as well as a enclosed garden area. A large covered outbuilding to the side of the cottage, provides generous storage space for bikes, kayaks and drying space for outdoor gear, as well as an outside tap and a very useful electric car charging point.
An Darach is situated just minutes to the south of Dunoon, the main town on the Cowal Peninsula and the south-western gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Dunoon has a good range of welcoming pubs and restaurants, a theatre, cinema, swimming pool and leisure centre. There are two ferry terminals which make frequent passenger and vehicular crossings to Gourock. There’s plenty to do in the area for active outdoor enthusiasts with three challenging courses in the area. The nearby marina is an excellent base from which to sail and explore the world famous lower Clyde and Kyles of Bute inland sea lochs and waterways.
With excellent sea fishing on the Firth of Clyde, you can also fish for salmon and sea trout by permit on some of the rivers and lochs locally. The area is renowned for its spectacular scenery and wildlife. There are endless walks, hill climbs and quiet country roads offering wonderful rambling and cycling trails. The Arrochar Alps in northern Cowal offer some of the finest hill walking in the southern Highlands, which include the Cowal Way (known as ‘Scotland in 57 miles’). The exciting ‘Dunoon Project’ promises future development in the future for adventure sports in the area. Local attractions include Castle House Museum and Gardens, Bishop’s Glen, Dunoon Ceramics and Morag’s Fairy Glen.
