In March 2018 Abermawr Cottage was listed in The Times as a recommended place to stay with family. Located on a peaceful leafy hilltop within walking distance of twin beaches Abermawr and Aberbach, this is a characterful cottage (known locally as Pen yr Allt) full of interest and style you can’t fail to be charmed by it. Period features blend seamlessly with modern comforts from the timber floors, Jotul woodburning stove and deep set cottage windows to the exposed stone walls and wooden beams high in what was the crog loft. A delightful bright and airy open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room invites relaxation, throw open the patio doors and listen to a chorus of bird. Abermawr Cottage is a wildlife haven and great for bird watching. Better still on warm days move onto the sunny terrace and while away the hours in blissful contentment reading a good book while sipping a favourite tipple and admiring the pretty wild woodland garden. After busy days on the beach and coastal path, spend lazy evenings sharing locally sourced holiday meals and conversation at the rustic dining table. The three cosy cottage bedrooms invite rest and relaxation with two bathrooms across the hallway all on one level. Perfect at anytime of the year, the incredibly peaceful location and bespoke interiors make this a unique and very special holiday hideaway.
Footpaths through the National Trust woodlands lead you to the sand and shingle beaches of Abermawr and Aberbach, dogs are welcome all year round - this is a walkers paradise. Woodlands carpeted with bluebells, wood anemones, wild garlic and alive with birdsong in the spring and seals can be spotted on the shoreline in the Autumn. The remains of a long vanished petrified forest can be seen at Abermawr and the pretty cove of Aberbach is good for seal spotting in September. Beach 3½ miles.
Abermawr Cottage (QC1475) can be booked with Snoozy Bear Cabin (QC1794) to accommodate upto 8 guests.
